BHUBANESWAR
Bhubaneswar (The Gods World) is
the capital city of the state of Odisha
and is fondly referred as the City of
Temples. The city has a rich history
of over 3,000 years starting with the
Chedi dynasty (around 2nd century
BCE) and is a centre of economic and
religious importance in Eastern India.
The modern city of Bhubaneswar was
designed by German architect Otto
Knigsberger and is one of the most
planned and cleanliest cities of India.
The new Bhubaneswar with its modern
buildings and extensive infrastructure
perfectly complements its historic
surroundings. The city presents
itself as a shining example where the
conventional and unconventional
peacefully co-exist and that is what
characterises the new Bhubaneswar.
The city is one of the fastest developing
cities in India and also has played its
part in the development of Odisha,
which is realizing the potential of its
abundant natural resources and skilled
labour. It is emerging as an IT hub with
organizations like Infosys, TCS, and
Mahindra Satyam have set up offices
here. One of the major education hubs
of Eastern India, the fine blend of the
old-school and the contemporary
with its vibrant economy provides the
perfect setting for XIMB.
