Ali is arrogant!
Ali is conceited
Ali is full of himself
Ali Brash
Ali thinks he is above the law
Ali is a draft dodger
Ali should leave religion out of his speech
These are just some of the criticisms placed on Muhammad Ali.
Whether you agree with the criticisms or not.
One virtue that most people would agree with is that you have got to
admire is his courage.
This blog is about Muhammad Alis defense strategies.
Im going to talk about both his Boxing Defense strategies and his personal defense strategies!

2. Martin Luther King, Jr talks about Muhammad Ali
One of the most stinging criticisms Ali Recieved was that many people called him a draft dodger during
the Vietnam war.
Ali filed as a contentious objector on grounds of religious reasons.
In defense of Ali, Dr. Martin Luther King said,
My hope is that Every Man in this country who finds this war objectionable, and
abominable, and unjust would file as a contentious objector

About his refusal to be drafted, the following occurred:

At the trial on June 20, 1967, after only 21 minutes of deliberation, the jury found Ali guilty. [20] After a Court
of Appeals upheld the conviction, the case went to the U.S. Supreme Court.
In the years between the appellate court decision and the Supreme Court verdict, Ali remained free. As
public opinion began turning against the war and the Civil Rights movement continued to gather

momentum, Ali became a popular speaker at colleges and universities across the country, rare if not
unprecedented for a boxer.
On June 28, 1971, the Supreme Court in Clay v. United States overturned Alis conviction by a unanimous
8-0 decision (Justice Thurgood Marshall did not participate).[96] The decision was not based on, nor did it
address, the merits of Alis claims per se; rather, the Court held that since the Appeal Board gave no reason
for the denial of a conscientious objector exemption to Ali, and that it was therefore impossible to
determine which of the three basic tests for conscientious objector status offered in the Justice
Departments brief that the Appeals Board relied on, Alis conviction must be reversed. (Wikipedia.org)
