recommendations to resolve the problem on health, lifestyle and fitness status of Police
Security and Protection group. This concluding chapter of the research study, would be
the basis of the future researchers in conducting broader aspect of this research. It
summarized the main problem of the study using both quantitative and qualitative
research. The summary of findings were based from the previous chapter.
Subsequently, the conclusions were based from the findings and the recommendations
were made possible through the conclusion.

and Protection Personnel in terms of Physical Health, Psycho-social Health and

Hataw Dance and Pulistenics once a week. The Philippine National Police should
implement the No Smoking Policy to all personnel. Likewise the Strict Adherence to RA
8551 Section 14 should be made. In addition to the current health programs of the
Philippine National Police, the PSPG unit should initiate the program on Wellness
Dance, Diet Counselling, Lifestyle Modification, Smoking and Drinking Stoppage
Program, Mental Health and Rehabilitative Services.

categories of the performance evaluation form.

141

4. Psycho-social Health and Psycho-social Problems had a higher impact in

terms of Job Performance. Most of their indicators are correlationally
significant with Job Performance.
5. The Republic Act No. 6795 and 8551 were the basis of the Policies and
Standards of the Philippine National Police including the programs of hiring
the new personnel. However, in terms of programs on physical health, the
PSPG conducted the Hataw Dance and Pulistenics twice a week.
6. The Philippine National Police should implement the No Smoking Policy to all
personnel. Likewise the Strict Adherence to RA 8551 Section 14 should be
made. In addition to the current health programs of the Philippine National
Police, the PSPG unit should initiate the program on Wellness Dance, Diet
Counselling, Lifestyle Modification, Smoking, Rehabilitation Services, Mental
Health Services and Drinking Stoppage Program.

RECOMMENDATIONS
Based from the conclusion, the following recommendations were formulated:
1. Maintain the Health and Fitness Status of the PSPG through strict
implementation of programs in health monitoring system. In addition to the
health benefits of the policemen, they should have a free annual check-up to
prevent the occurrence of health risks.
2. Do a daily fitness program instead once a week. It includes: Wellness Dance
and the existing Pulistenics, Hataw Dance and Wellness dance.

142

3. Conduct a Pre and Post Physical Fitness Test annually as a basis of future
health and fitness program.
4. Conduct an Annual Team Building Activity to increase the self-esteem and
confidence of policemen.
5. Hold relevant professional trainings to the PSPG personnel to maintain and
increase their job performance level.
6. An individual self-rating and supervisors evaluation should be utilized in
determining the job performance assessment to have a fair evaluation of job
performance
7. Had an Annual Neurological Test in addition to Physical Fitness Test. Consult
to the professional specialist the personnel with behavioral problems.
8. Law Enforcement as a profession is both mentally and physically demanding.
It is vital to maintain an elevated level of stress in both categories. One need
to exercise the mind just as one exercises their muscles.
a. Physical conditioning provides our personnel with so many positive
benefits. A sound body performs better, recuperates faster and is
generally a more efficient engine which instills confidence in itself.
b. Stress Management Training incorporates a lot different avenues and
facets in dealing with stress. We need to train hard, and most of all, it
should based on reality prevailing set-up or condition. It must also
include preparation for the unexpected scenario or situation as,
oftentimes this unexpected events place us under fatal condition. A
positive learning environment that incorporates stress, fatigue, success,

143

scenarios and mental imaging is a result of the entire survivability of

police officer.
c.

Encourage a peer support system that will help our personal better
cope with stress-producing events within their units. A sense of safety
happens in the context of mutually responsible and trusting relationship.
It takes place when they dont judge or make assumptions about each
other. It is with this interpretation of safety that they can begin to take
risks and practice alternative ways of responding even to the most
difficult situation they may encounter.

9. Implement the new policies suggested by this study.

10. Implement the No Smoking and Drinking to the policemen. As a law enforcer,
they should be the model to the society.
11. For the future researchers, it is recommended to include in the study the
Mental Health of the PSPG personnel.
