FOREWORD
Thanks for choosing Onwa KGN-200 Gyro to NMEA Converter. KGN-200 convert
the traditional gyro synchro and stepper signal into digital NMEA0183 signal and
display the heading in real time. It can provide NMEA0183 digital signal to various
equipments onboard such as ECS, Radar, AIS and Autopilot.
Before you start please make sure the package included the following items :
1) KGN-200 Main unit One set
2) Operator manual One copy
3) Input /Output connectors One set
4) Installation materials One set

2. Wiring
2.1 Input wiring
The Output signals from the Synchro or Stepper are required to be connected to the
relevant inputs of the Gyro to NMEA Convertor, refer to the Gyro manufacturers
handbook if required.
Working with Stepper gyrocompass make connection of S1, S2, S3 and COM
to corresponding gyrocompass output. No connection for R1 and R2
Working with Synchro gyrocompass make connection of S1, S2, S3, R1 and
R2 to corresponding gyrocompass output. No connection for COM
Note: When heading indicator on KGN-200 is running opposite direction against
gyrocompass heading you just require reverse the connection either 2 wires of
S1, S2 or S3.
