B. Mount bars should be 115 mm far away from the inner side of front door to ensure the
door can be closed after the device is installed with cable rack. If this requirement is not
satisfied, it is suggested to adjust position of installation posts.
C. To adopt upward wiring, outlets should be reserved on the top of cabinet; whereas, to
adopt downward wiring, outlets be reserved at the bottom.
D. Make sure whether grounding points are reserved for the device on the cabinet. If
reserved, connect the device with the grounding points of the cabinet (non-mandatory), and
then the grounding points with copper grounding bar.
E. Porosity of the cabinet door must be larger than 50% (the sum of aperture areas on the
door should be at least half the door area).
F. The cabinet should provide slide rail or supporting plate for installation, and be equipped
with corresponding hole locations to bind wires.
A. Open the case and take out the chassis according to Operation Guide in the case.
&
Remark:
Make sure the bottom of the cabinet is more than 2U (1U=44.45 mm, that is the height of three mount holes) away from the
slide rail.
Note:
The chassis is heavy, so four to five personnel are needed to mount it. Make sure only the handles at the side of the chassis
can be used to lift it up.
Note:
1. To install the cable rack, extract the second horizontally inserted fan module (from top to bottom), otherwise it will
interfere with the installation of the cable rack.
2. During the installation of the cable rack, make sure to align with the hole that prevents reverse installation, otherwise the
cable rack cannot be installed.
&
Remark:
There is a jack for antistatic wrist strap at each side of the chassis. Use them according to actual situation on site.
A. Stick two ends of the grounding cable with rectangle labels as temporary marker.
B. Lead the grounding cables along wiring ladder and binding position in the cabinet into the
vicinity of the grounding point of the device.
&
Remark:
In case the grounding cable of the chassis directly connects with grounding bar of the customer, the grounding cable and
power cable can be laid together along the cable rack of the equipment room & cabling path in the cabinet.
Cables should be bundled up once every 100 mm inside the cabinet.
C. Install protective grounding cable at equipment side; connect the other side of the cable to
the grounding bar of the equipment room.
A. A. Stick two ends of each power cable with rectangle labels as temporary marker.
B. Lead the power cables along wiring ladder into the vicinity of the power module of the
chassis.
C. Connect one end of the power cable to the customers power cabinet.
Note:
1 Rate at which ZXCTN 9008 device is fully configured is 2700W while rate at which ZXCTN 9004 device is fully
configured is 1400W. For specific power distribution requirements and algorithmic method, see the section Technical
Performance in Product Description Manual.
2 Before all power cables are installed, do NOT install fuse to avoid danger.
D. Dismantle the power module baffles, plastic baffles, nuts and gaskets.
&
Remark:
2 The right installation order for nut and gasket (from inside to out): shim, power supply terminal, shim, spring and nut.
E. Connect the other end of the power cable to corresponding port on the power module.
Warning:
In the above two steps, installing power cable with power on is strictly prohibited to avoid personal injury.
F. Stick the labels and re-install the plastic baffles of the power module.
G. Use wire fastener to fasten the power cable on the cabling path in the rack.
Remark:
Pay attention to the following interface numbering rules to avoid incorrect cabling:
Rack No: ZXCTN9008/9004 does not support trunking and the rack No. is constantly 0.
PFU slot No.: for ZXCTN 9008, slot No. is 1~12, while for ZXCTN9004, slot No. is 1~5. For details, see the distribution
map below.
Interface sub-card No. on PFU: in range of 0~1, in ascending order from top to bottom.
Port No.: It depends on the number of port supported by specific interface board; it starts from 1, in ascending order from
top to bottom, left to right.
9004
Remark:
Compare colors on the right side of the panel with colors of board No. area on the chassis to judge whether the boards are
inserted into correct slots.
A. Push the motherboard along the guide rail into the slot smoothly
B. Insert the board to 3/4 of the slot, and insert interface sub-card and fasten it.
Note:
ZXCTN 9008/9004 interface sub-card doesnt support hot-swap.
1 In case the device has been powered on, to dismantle the interface sub-card, it is necessary to unplug the motherboard
first, and interface sub-card then; to plug interface sub-card, it is also necessary to unplug the motherboard, plug
interface sub-card, and then the motherboard.
2 In case the device has been powered off, the motherboard can be fully inserted before interface sub-card.
C. Fully insert the motherboard into the slot, and tighten up the captive screws in the board
and interface sub-card by screwdriver.
&
Remark:
Maintain protective cap for ports not in use, or maintain protective cap for the optical modules after they are inserted into
the port.
A. Stick two ends of the fiber with rectangle labels as temporary marker.
B. Unfold the fiber pigtails in a clear area in the equipment room, and bundle them up at
both ends.
Note:
1 The number of fibers laid at a time shouldnt be large, preferably not more than 50.
2 Bundle them up at two ends to avoid disorder when laying them along the cable rack.
Note:
1 If the equipment room is equipped with dedicated cable trough for signal cable, the fibers may not pass through the
corrugated pipe / bellows. However, between this cable trough and equipment side cable rack, the hose must be adopted
to protect the fibers.
2 When laying fibers along the cable rack, make sure the distance between fiber and power cable must be larger than 30
mm (Note: Black cables beside fibers in the left Figure are signal cable but not power cable.) Fibers should have a
bending radius larger than 400 mm at the turning point.
D. Remove the protective cap from the fiber heads, and plug the fibers into corresponding
ports.
&
Remark:
E. Tidy the fibers from at the port side and bundle them up along the cable rack of the
chassis.
Note:
1 Do not bundle the fibers up too tightly. Make sure the fibers can be twitched freely.
2 The fiber of a board must be laid vertically along the board to reach the cable rack, which facilitates subsequent
maintenance.
3 The fibers from different boards should be put into the hose after they converge. Adopt wire fasteners to fasten the hose
to the cable rack of the rack.
Note:
1 The hose must stretch out to reach the cable trough for signal cable.
G. Drive away extra fibers along the cable rack to ODF side to tidy up.
&
Remark:
Extra fibers can be winded up by dedicated winding facility inside the cabinet or on its top if any.
A. Remove the baffle of the power module and push the power module to ON
position.
Note:
Two power modules must be powered on simultaneously for protection.
Remark:
For whether indicators are normal and meaning of each indicator, see attached manual Hardware Descriptions Volume.
