You don't always get what you wish for, you get what you work
for. Time to go to work! - Tony Boyd

Change your Perspective

Perfection is in the eye of the beholder and
that beholder is you! Believing that a so-called
negative personality trait has a positive side can
help you turn that shortcoming into a strength.
Take impulsivity as one example. In a recent
study, researchers divided participants who believed they were impulsive into two groups. They
told one group that studies linking impulsivity to
creativity were well founded; they told the other
group that the impulsivity-/creativity link was
rubbish. The researchers then tested the subjects creativity. Guess what? The people who
believed impulsivity made them more creative
actually did better on the tests. This phenomenon
doesnt work just for impulsivity. For example, if
you admonish yourself for being indecisive and
slow to act, try thinking of yourself as patient instead. If you wish you werent so shy, pat yourself
on the back for being modest. Turning your trait
around is all in how you look at it. So open your
eyes to a whole new view of you!
