Zhan Zhuang

2700 years ago, Chinese philosopher,


Guan Zi,
wrote:
If your upper (body) does not (reflect)
any principle,
if your lower (body) is not substantial,
do not run like a horse,
do not fly like a bird.
Do not move until (acquiring) the object,
observe what it follows,
if you move then you will deviate from it,
inside calmness you will gain it
(Guan Zi Volume 13: Xinshu Chapter
36)
Later another famous philosopher, Lao
Zi, provides also a very interesting
description of Zhan zhuang:
Stand by yourself and hold (your
posture),
observe the Wonderful
Promote (internal) circulation untiringly,
then watch it arouses
(Laozi - Dao De Jing - Chapter 1 and
Chapter 25)

Prije 2700 godina, kineski filozof, Guan


Zi, napisao je:
Ako tvoje gornje (tijelo) ne (odraava)
neko naelo,
ako tvoje nie (tijelo) nije znaajno,
ne tri kao konj,
ne leti poput ptice.
Nemoj se pomicati prije (prihvaanja)
objekta,
promatraj ono to slijedi,
ako se pomakne onda e odstupiti od
toga,
unutar mirnoe e dobiti to

Kasnije jo jedan poznati filozof, Lao Zi,
daje takoer vrlo zanimljiv opis Zhan
Zhuang:
Stoj po sebi i dri (svoj stav),
promatraj Divotu ...
Promoviraj (unutarnju) cirkulaciju
neumorno,
zatim gledaj (kako se) to budi ...
(Laozi - Dao De Jing - Poglavlje 1 i
Poglavlje 25.)

Later in the Classic TCM (Traditional


Chinese Medicine) referenceHuang Di
Nei Jingwe can find again some
concrete reference and explanation to
Zhan zhuang:
Lift and support Heaven and Earth,
Grasp Yin and Yang,
Breathing deeply air,
Stand and meditate profoundly,
(All) muscles (unified) as one.

In a book of Cai Wangzhi, written during

Stoj i meditiraj dubinski,
(Svi) miii (jedinstveni) kao jedan.

the Jiaqing reign of the Ming Dynasty


(1522-1566), it is said:
When top of head is flat then head is
erect,
when shoulder is flat then body erect,
when leg is flat then force is positive,
when heart is peaceful then Qi pure.
It is only with the achievement of Four
Planenesses
and Four Rightnesses
that you can merge Internal with
External
and also have Strength, Qi, Spirit and
Power
all being merged together.
Secrets of Huaquan boxing - Cai
Wangzhi
Wang Xiangzhai in The Essence of
Boxingsaid about General training
program:
Outside your body,
(there is) no Wu to be searched,
Inside your body,
You can search it (Wu) endlessly.
Movement should be slow and not fast,
force should be exerted continuously
without any break. And then you should
have the sensation during moving of an
imminent stop, during stop of an
imminent move. All these subtle
conditions whichLao Zihas
magnificently summarized as:
From substantial to unsubstantial,
Here comes the form.
From unsubstantial to substantial,
Here comes the Wu.

U knjizi Cai Wangzhi, pisane tijekom


Jiaqing vladavine za vrijeme dinastije
Ming (1522-1566), reeno je:
"Kada vrh glave je ravan onda je glava
uspravno,
kada rame je ravno onda je tijelo
uspravno,
kada noga je ravna onda je sila pozitivna,
kad srce je mirno onda Qi isti.
To je samo s postizanjem etiri
Ravnosti (----)
i etiri i Ispravnosti
da moe spojiti Interno s Vanjskim
i takoer imati Snagu, Qi, Duh i Sila
sve se stapaju. "
"Tajne Huaquan boksa" - Cai Wangzhi
Wang Xiangzhai u "The Essence of
Boxing", rekao je o generalnom programu
obuke:
"Van vaeg tijela,
nije Wu koje se trai,
Unutar vaeg tijela,
Moete ga (Wu) traiti beskrajno. "
Pokret bi trebao biti spor i ne brz, sila se
treba izvoditi kontinuirano bez pauze.
I onda bi trebali imati osjeaj o
predstojeem zaustavljanju za vrijeme
kretanja, a tijekom mirovanja o
predstojeem pomicanju. Sve ove
suptilne uvjete koje je "Lao Zi"
velianstveno saeo kao:
"Od znatnog do neznatnog,
Ovdje dolazi oblik.
Od neznatnog do znatnog,
Ovdje dolazi Wu. "
