Reservoir Saturation Tools

The unique dual-detector spectrometry system of the through-tubing RST* and RSTPro*
Reservoir Saturation Tools enables the recording of carbon and oxygen and Dual-Burst*
Thermal Decay Time measurements during
the same trip in the well. The carbon/oxygen
(C/O) ratio is used to determine the formation
oil saturation independent of the formation
water salinity. This calculation is particularly
helpful if the water salinity is low or unknown.
If the salinity of the formation water is high,
the Dual-Burst Thermal Decay Time measurement is used. A combination of both
measurements can be used to detect and
quantify the presence of injection water of
a different salinity from that of the connate
water.
RST tools (RST-A and RST-B) are used with
PL Flagship* advanced well flow diagnosis
service. RSTPro tools (RST-C and RST-D)
are used with the PS Platform* production
services. Both the RST and RSTPro tools are
available in two sizes to address a range of
casing sizes and applications and the issues
associated with wellbores under static or
flowing conditions: 1.71-in. [4.34-cm] RST-A
and RST-C and 2.51-in. [6.37-cm] RST-B and
RST-D tools. The RST-B and RST-D tools have
the added advantage of shielded detectors;
the near detector is shielded from the formation and the far detector is shielded from
the borehole.
