Attendance and Class Conduct

1. There are two (2) class lectures per week that begin promptly at 5:40 pm and one (1) mandatory recitation hour that convenes
at 7:40 pm. The lectures and recitations are both mandatory components of this course. While attendance does not count
toward your overall course grade, excessive absences will result in you being removed from the class roster.
2.

Students will be dropped from the roster after six (6) absences from either lectures or recitations. It is imperative that students
attend regularly given the breadth of information covered per class session in this course.

3.

Mobile phones must be turned off or put on silent (airplane mode) during class. Unnecessary disruptions WILL NOT be
tolerated. If a student is unable to comply with this policy, s/he may be asked to leave the class and will receive an absence
for that day.

Homework
4. Homework assignments will be completed online via www.coursecompass.com. Students must purchase the MyMathLab
(MML) Student Access Kit as per the instructions in your class enrollment confirmation. Once you log into your account,
register for this class using the course ID: williams33655.
5.

You must receive a minimum completion score of 80% to receive credit for any homework assignment.

Examinations
6. There will be three (3) in-class examinations and one (1) cumulative final examination. The in-class examinations will
contain both short-response and multiple-choice questions, which will assess your understanding of all topics covered since
the previous exam. The cumulative final will consist solely of 35 multiple-choice questions, and will be administered in class
on Wednesday, December 17th at 6:00 PM.
Grading Policy
7. As per the policy of the Department of Mathematics, and student who scores less than 60% on the final examination or has a
class average of less than 70% will be assigned a grade of R (repeat).
