ADMISSION PROCEDURE

Entry requirements
Even if specific requirements might be set by each course, these are the
basic qualifications required:
- Secondary School Diploma obtained after at least 12 years of schooling, when applying for an
undergraduate course
- Bachelor of Science or equivalent, when applying for Master programmers
- Master's degree, when applying for doctoral programmers or medical specialization schools.
Students from countries where admission to university is possible after 10 or 11 years of study
must prove that they have attended the local university and passed all necessary examinations for
2 years or 1 year, so as to reach a total of 12 years of study. As an alternative to university studies
they must prove to have a post-secondary title. In any case they must have passed the University
entrance examination in their country, if required by law.

After getting the admission the VISA procedure will starts in FOUR stages:

1) Pre-Enrollment
Pre-Enrollment Procedure
You have to go to Consulate general of Italy, which is there in Mumbai (compulsory- FOR
THOSE WHO HAS FINISHED THEIR BACHELORS IN SOUTH INDIA, FOR THOSE
WHO SUBMITTED HAVE TO GO TO DELHI and FOR THE PEOPLE WHO
FINISHED THEIR BACHELORS IN WESTBENGAL SIDE SHOULD ATTEND
KOLKATTA CONSULATE). This is not done by any VFS or agent. Over there, you will be
filling a Module-F forms and Sign it. In the consulate they will help u in filling up the form.
The Original Documents Required,
1)Carry your Invitation letter from university or admit letter or selection list.
2) Along with that carry passport
3) Degree certificate with HRD and APOSTILLE (MUST)
4) Transcript from your University (in a Sealed Envelope)
4) consolidated marks sheet
5) Passport Size Photos 4 and above.

* Note: ~3 Sets of Photocopies of all the mentioned documents above.


Call the consulate and check out whether they have started accepting applications for the preenrollment process. Call them and take appointment (022 23804071). Once u call them, ask for
Puspa (who works over there, a very helpful and friendly female). I have given the consulate
number below. take an appointment and visit mumbai and complete the pre-enrollment process.

2) VERIFICATION OF EDUCATIONAL DOCUMENTS
After completion of pre enrollment we need to contact with nearest VFS global and submit all
the educational documents .They will scanned your documents and returned back. The cost of
this verification process is around Rs2400/In generally the verification process will takes around 15-20 days
3) DECLARATION OF VALUE
The DV is an official document which provides a short description of a certain academic
or professional qualification, awarded to a specific person by an institution belonging to
an educational system other than the Italian one.

Steps to follow to obtain the DV In order to obtain the DV, the student will
require:
the original certificate (High School Certificate / Bachelor / Master) stamped by
the University (seal or authentication stamp)
Notarization of the academic documents
The authentication from the State Department of Education of the State where the
Certificate has been issued (stamp)
The authentication from the HRD Department (Ministry Of Education of the state
where the students university belongs)
APOSTILLE sticker, provided by the Ministry of External Affairs (Patiala
House), Delhi (or RAC, Regional Accreditation Center, of the Ministry of
External Affairs).
Translation of the documents into Italian, by an authorized translator (see contacts
below)
A clear copy of a valid passport
Proof (letter or email) sent to the Consulate/Italian Embassy from the University
stating admission or enrollment as a student (Attn. This step will be done by
Bocconi so that Embassy and Consulate will be informed of the students
acceptance to the University)

Copies (not authorized) of all mark sheets starting from 10th grade to the most
recent education level (Education Certificates: High School Certificate /
Bachelor / Master)
Cover letter stating the students educational background IN CASE YOU USE THE
SERVICES OF AN AGENCY: the Cover letter should also state the students
authorization of the agent to represent him/her for the procedure of DV. Once the
documents are ready and translated, The Italian Consulate / Embassy has to attest the
correct translation into Italian.
The procedure for issuing a Declaration of Value may take time due to several
verifications. However, a minimum of 15-30 working days is required.
4) VISA FILING
Documents required for a student visa application:
Application form downloaded from the Italian Consulate Webpage
(http://www.vfsitaly.co.in/website/application_form.shtml);
Two recent passport-size photograph (White Background);
Passport having validity of 90 days from date of expiry of visa with 1 blank page,
Issued with in jurisdiction of the Embassy;
Dichiarazione di Valore (Declaration of Value, DV) of the applicants
educational certificates duly legalized by the Consular office of this Embassy (see
above);
Documented guarantees regarding the applicants study curriculum (Education
Certificates: High School Certificate / Bachelor / Master) certified copies.
Acceptance of enrolment by the Italian School or Institution, stating the duration
of course (Bocconi will send this directly to the Consulate/Embassy);
Receipt of full payment of the first part of tuition fees (if the scholarship covers
the expenses for boarding and lodging, no documents are required to be submitted
either for economic status or for the means of sustenance);
Documentation regarding the applicants economic status (proof of economic
status includes salary slips, bank passbook, fixed deposits etc. as proof of means
of income, sufficient to cover the expenses for the study in Italy for the entire
stay);
Adequate financial guarantees regarding the means of sustenance (to cover tuition
fees and boarding and lodging in Milan);
Overseas Medical Insurance with minimum coverage of Euro 30,000 with the
inclusion of a repatriation flight if required at least for 30 days, to be completed in
Italy within the said 30 days with an undertaking. Any well-known Insurance
Company can provide the overseas medical insurance policy.
Proof of Stay (Boarding and Lodging) in Italy. Applicants must demonstrate proof
of residence in Italy. The above documentation has to be handed in personally to
the Italian Consulate in Mumbai.

In case of the use of an agents services, the personal presence of the student is not
required. The agent will coordinate to collect the above documentation from the student
and submit it to the Consulate. Upon approval of the visa, the agent will inform the
student about the outcome of the application and courier the passport
