Evaluation Question 3: What have you learned

from your audience feedback?

SAHAR HALIMI

What have you learned from your

audience feedback?

We used Google Docs to collect our feedback for our music video
drafts and magazine advert drafts, however, the amount of
responses we got were very limited. Collectively, we gained a
few responses for the music video and this was through social
media (Facebook-our walk the line page). The only feedback
that I got that proved to be useful was saying that the black
and white effect was a good way of showing the timing
difference but they also suggested playing memories in
reverse. I agreed with this feedback, and it did, in my opinion
take our music video standards up by a few notches.

For the Magazine Cover

To receive feedback on the magazine advert, we had put out a

survey on google docs and gave audiences samples of several
of the initial magazine advert ideas and asked them to
respond, stating which variation they preferred. We received
very few responses, despite promoting the survey on
Facebook. This was unfortunate, and gave us very little to
work with, however, unanimous vote among the three of us
decided upon the final design.

Although

We did manage to gain more useful opinions for the digipak. A

group member took the responsibilities of having created six cd
covers and I created a survey and posted the link to friends on
Facebook. I received 10 responses overall, and got some very
useful responses but they didn't manage to change my decision
about the final cover for the digipak.

The audience feedback gave us all mixed feelings about our work
but obviously I would say we were all concerned about how
people ranked our work. Both the music video and magazine
advert feedback was bare which made us feel uneasy about our
work. Although we did get more feedback for the digipak, and it
gave us confidence about our design choices. I sent friends the
survey link on Facebook which received fast responses.

We noticed

That the best way of receiving feed back was indeed through
social media (Facebook), therefore we decided to keep
updating our Facebook page and YouTube because it is a quick
and easy way for a variety of people to see and make a
comment our products. Also, because our target audience is
so vast, we decided that sharing our products on Facebook
would gain the most varied response from different age groups
and genders. It was the most convenient way to gather our
feedback and share it with others on our group blog.

Our target audience

For our music video, digipak and magazine advert are going to be
people who listen to Singer songwriter and are into ,music
videos with meanings and stories so they can relate to them
themselves. Whoever takes a keen interest in this genre will
be targeted as our audience.

We wanted to get feedback from both our peers, and people from
outside our peer group to receive a fair sample of unbiased
opinion, in order to improve our product to appeal to
audiences better. Along with receiving feedback from
audiences, we constantly asked the band on their opinions of
our products, in order to make sure the band was pleased with
the image of them we were presenting to audiences, and
capturing them in the light they would like to be shown in.
