Assalam-O-Alikum

I have attended a workshop on CV Writing and Interview Skills last month at ICMA,
Pakistan Lahore Campus. The major speaker of that workshop was:
Miss Naheed Waqar (Former Faculty member of ICMAP lahore)
Mr. Adnan Iqbal (Senior Manager Berger Paint)
The aim of the workshop was to introduce the new format of CV/Resume and make
some corrections that we often do with our Cv. The views about CVs format that we
ordinary use, how to use Cover letters, Style of Cvs, adding your picture or not etc.
I made some conclusion and I will share their ideas with you. The following
discussion is about every content of Cv/Resume.
1. Head of CV: Do not Write any thing on the head of the CV like Curiculam
Vitae or Resume
2. Name: Name must be full and complete with Normal alphabet and a bit
bigger font as in the attachment.
3. Contact Details: after the name Contact detail will come, u can see this in
the attachment, do not write two addresses like present or permanent, just
mention one where you are currently living. Do not mention your age, just
write your DOB. The most important is your E-mail address, it must be of ur
name, simple and easy like, muhammad.ali@gmail.com. Never use this kind
of Mail prince.ali@gmail.com. it wont show your professional attitude
towrads employer.
4. Objective: Objective is like Heart of your CV, you hear the Qoutation First
Impression Is the last impression so your objective is your first impression on
employer. Do not copy it from Google or other Cvs, Instead write it in your
own words, what you want to be in your Future, what you want to do in your
Practical field, whats your strenghts etc. it should not be too long to read and
not in difficult words. Use easy and comprehensive words.
5. Experience/Internship: Mention your Employement history or any
internship with months to months, like 1, Oct 2001 to 30, Nov 2003. Do not
write 2001 to 2003 only, months and dates is very important. Describe your
Duties and Roles of Responsibilities in a very effective manner. Mention if you
devolp any system in your organization and if you introduce any new system
that is significant. It shows your excellence and sincearity with your work.
6. Education: start with your Recent Education. Do not write Matric or under
Matric qualification. As everyone know your did your Matric. Mention the year
in which you completed your Degree. The format of Education is very
important. It is presented in the atttachment. Do not write your education in
Tabular format, like in rows and coulums with blocks.
7. Skills: mention any remarkable skills if you have in the desired job.
8. Remarkable Achievments and Awards: if u have any write it

9. Professional Devolpment: mention if you attend any workshops, seminars

and activities like that, also mention the the theme of the workshop and
courses.

Important Note:
1. This is much information you can add to your cv. This is sufficient material
that your employer wants from you.
2. Do not mention Hobbies, Co-curricular activites like, Book reading,
newspapers, cricket, internet surfing etc, Because every normal person do it.
It will increase your space in CV and it is irrelevant also. Mention if you do
some Extra oridanry work like Articles writing hosting any program, member
of any sports team etc.
3. Do not leave empty Space on CV. Manage it within one or two pages.
4. Do not Write References if you have any.
5. Following information is irrelevant and never mention in your Cv:
Fathers Name:
Membership/Reg No,
CNIC No.
Marital Status
Religion
Childern
Country Visited
Religon
Language Competency
