North American Network, LLC Denver, CO 2009 to Present
An outsourced IT shared service organization founded and operated for the sole benefit of its 12
independently owned Regional Local Business Partners (LBP) of Emerson Process Management. Part of
the direct sales and service organization for Emerson in North America. The 12 companies generate over
$1.5 billion in sales and have over 2000 employees. I am the top business counsel for the CEO and CFOs
of all 12 companies.
Executive Director CFO | CIO role
Recruited to the organization by one of its LBP executives to lead a comprehensive business
system revitalization effort.
Working directly for the Executive board and LBP Presidents to manage all aspects of
outsourced shared service IT organization.
Developed a strategic roadmap for all business units and product lines. Subsequent plans for
organization and business system capabilities.
Established as the principle liaison with Emerson Process Management in the area of business
integration. LBPs are a regional outsourced sales and service function of this $9 billion+
division of Emerson.
Developed comprehensive sales, engineering quote, customer order, integrated Emerson
purchase order work flow tool using Business Process Management (BPM) software to drive
efficiency while avoiding custom software development.
Lead cross functional LBP committees in the development of requirements and RFI for Field
Service, large customer projects, shop orders/repair depot, warehouse automation (bar
coding), Finance, and Sales analysis/data warehousing.
Managed vendor RFI process and contract activities resulting in an approved $20 million
business system project (ERP & Data Warehousing).
Leading rollout for all 12 companies utilizing a phased approach and common reusable process
and setup designs.

Vice President Finance Systems

Recruited by ex-Sprint PCS VP, Controller to lead the start of a $750 million SAP business
transformation for the organization. Multiple attempts in this effort had failed in the previous
years.
Worked with Executive Finance and IT leaders to establish the project scope across all world
areas. Strategy was integrated into significant ongoing multi-billion dollar corporate acquisition
and divesture transactions.
Lead the RFI process and selection of a system integrator to assist in the effort.
Efforts were to integrate over 275 companies on 6 continents. Extensive analysis of outsourcing
and in house shared service structures.
Key part of Executive team that lead a worldwide shift from standalone finance organizations to
a finance shared service model impacting changes to thousands of finance staff roles.
Managed initial $90 million project to successful on-time on-budget completion using 50+ staff
and 400 + on and off shore consultants.
Project scope impacted all finance functions from order to cash, procure to pay, record to
report, Sarbanes Oxley, internal controls, global SEC consolidation / reporting and business
intelligence.

Dex Media, Inc. (now part of RH Donnelly) Denver, CO 2003 to 2005


New firm established to facilitate $7B purchase of the Qwest Communications Directory Publishing
Division. Part of the core finance team that lead multiple public debt offerings and IPO.
Sr. Director Financial Systems and Finance Operations

Recruited by ex- Sprint PCS CFO to lead the efforts removing Dex Media as an integrated
operating unit of Quest following the private equity buyout.
Established strategy for all business systems, Sarbanes Oxley, SEC reporting, finance operations
and corporate governance.
Established standards across SEC reporting, Accounting, Sarbanes Oxley, Treasury, Tax,
Financial Systems, and Planning/Forecasting by implementing detailed policies, processes, and
procedures. This set of processes drove a reduction of the financial close process from 25+ days
to regular 5 day month end financial results delivery.
Lead RFI process for the selection of ERP software and a system integrator.
Lead analysis for the outsourcing of IT functions and yellow page graphic artists.

Established a procurement function that lead to $185 million in contracted savings on the
manufacturing of books. Also saved and additional $6 million in annual operating expense by
establishing a comprehensive operational cost review effort.
Lead the establishment of the HR and Payroll system functions for the new standalone company
with 2,000 employees (1,200 unionized sales staff).
Operated the ongoing Finance operations and payroll functions in a shared service format.

Aerie Networks, Inc. Denver, CO 2000 to 2003


Start-up Company engaged in design / construction of fiber optic networks and revitalizing high-speed
wireless Internet access networks across 21 major metropolitan areas. Part of the core Finance team
driving $600 million in series A & B financing and $1.5 billion in revolving debt facility.
Vice President & Controller

Recruited by ex- Sprint PCS CFO to lead the efforts to build the finance business system and
processes of a private equity funded national internet fiber network.
Played key role in ramping up operations by structuring and deploying financial support systems
as well as implementing all corporate planning / forecasting processes and cash management
policies.
Developed efficient partnerships with all operating organizations to provide an effective service
delivery model while meeting all necessary financial control objectives.
Assured risk mitigation through proper contract administration, corporate risk assessments, and

Wireless Telecommunications Company that grew from a start-up to an S&P 500 member in 4 years.
Part of core finance team that drove 15+ billion in debt financing and an IPO.
Sr. Director Finance Decision Support Services (Financial Systems)

Hired as one of the first 400 employees in a firm that grew to over 25,000 employees and a
member of the S&P 500 in four years.
Responsible for the hiring and management of 80+ staff. Created scalable operations by
incorporating 100+ consultants on various projects.
Established business systems for transaction processing while meeting centralized shared
service objectives and distributed finance operations support. Automation efforts drove start
up company financial results delivery form 20 days to 4 days.
Lead all finance data warehouse and decision support (BI) efforts Received Best Practice
Award from the Data Warehouse Institute and a CIO Web 50 Award for developing financial
and management reporting data warehouse capabilities nationwide.
Developed and lead the finance strategy process leading to prioritization and funding of $20+
million in activities annually.
Supported all FP & A capability development. Driver based forecasts were essential to
understanding the dynamics of what grew to 18,000 staff in multiple call centers. Developed
analysis and planning for call center interactions and their relationship to revenue and cost
drivers.

Developed Finance Affiliate support program to support 20+ Sprint PCS regional partner
companies doing business in rural areas filling in Sprints network and using all Sprint PCS
network and billing platforms.
Supported Finance M & A activities by planning and leading the integration of 2 $500 million
acquisitions.
