Train twenty troopers, four water patrolman and one capitol policeman with a
minimum of two years experience, who have passed a security background
acceptable to IC E.

Training facilities are available at our MSHP Law Enforcement Academy, where
instructors can utili ze computer training aids. videos and any other materials they may
need in instructions.

This program will allow us to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement that will enable us to
participate with ICE in identifyi ng criminal illegal aliens who pose a ri sk to the citizens of
Missouri. I look forward to your speedy endorsement of thi s req uest and moving forward with
this program for the benefit of all.

Thank you for your interest in the 287(g) delegation of immigration authority program. The
287(g) Program Management Office and the Office of the Assistant Secretary for U. S.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) are in receipt of your request for training for the
Missouri Department of Public Safety.

On September 10, 2007, the Program Manager for 287(g) Delegation of Authority at ICE
Headquarters forwarded your request to the Special Agent in Charge Chicago, Illinois, and the
Field Officer Director of Detention and Removal, Chicago. Local representatives from these
two divisions will be in contact with you soon to conduct a preliminary assessment and
determine whether the 287(g) program is the appropriate application to address your local law
enforcement challenges
