About the Client


The client is a Saudi Arabia-based company engaged in travel, tourism and
transportation business. The Companys activities include travel and tourism
agency services, shipping and transportation, Hajj and Umrah, conference, events
and education, and ships and aircrafts reservation, as well as other travel and
tourism related services and products.

Requirements:
The client wanted to implement a single holistic system which would be able to
handle the following requirements :
Well-Integrated modules covering all aspects of TMC Business

Multi-Company , Multi-Currency , Multi-Location system
Complete Stock Management and Distribution including receipt from vendor,
issue & re-issue, return to vendor /to issued location, damage

Auto-auditing of Booking Fares with Faremaster module
Real Time Dynamic Accounting
Fixed Assets, Account Payable, Account Receivable, General Ledger
Handling and Tracking huge volume of daily transactions with ease
High Level and Exhaustive Drill Down Reports
Budgeting Control and Expense Tracking

Challenges:
Integration & Data Integrity Issue - The existing system had complex
heterogeneous IT system in place, which was creating delays and errors in
financial processes and reporting.
Managing ticketing operations across multiple locations

IGT Solution
The IGT team was involved in suggesting appropriate solution based on business
needs and was instrumental in gathering requirements, design, development,
implementation and maintenance of the system. The system is currently
implemented in multiple countries across Middle East. The overview of the solution
is as follows:
A state-of-the-art browser based solution that integrates enterprise-wide
business processes for Travel Agencies was proposed to the client.
The solution is modular and it covers all functions viz., ticketing, cargo,
warehouse, tours, shipping, real-time-core-accounting, HR.
The solution is based on highly scalable architecture keeping in mind the
growing and dynamic business needs.
The plug-in plug-out framework based on modular design enabled the client to
rapidly deploy starting with one module and building up and integrating the
solution on a parallel track mode.

Solution Features:
The highlights of the proposed solution helped the client to achieve following
capabilities:
Multi-GDS capability
The Ticketing module was designed to handle Multiple GDS data. The system is
capable to be well integrated with any GDS. The Machine Interface record of
GDS is automatically downloaded and entered into sales booking modules with
auto-auditing of GDS fares against existing private fares in the system based on
business rules defined. Initially the entire ticketing of the client was on Galileo
GDS and it is already integrated seamlessly with the system.
Private fares generation and maintenance
Private Air Fare generation engine for creating and maintaining International,
Domestic, Group, Charter, VUSA, EURO fares. Fare generation is made possible
in simple steps. The fares are completely integrated with Ticketing booking
screens
Real-Time accounting
All the sales modules are completely integrated with online accounting module.
Accounting entries in ledger books corresponding to bookings can be done in
bulk. Based on business rules, the entire booking process can be crosschecked
before posting them in bulk into ledger. There is no batch process or hard coding
involved in accounting that is fully dynamic and on a real time basis
File Upload facility
External files of fares like excel sheets can be uploaded into the system to be
used in booking. The entire process is very fast and flexible. The file reading
capability is available throughout the entire system and can be used whenever
the client chooses to do so
Integration with Online Internet Booking Engine
A next generation cutting-edge Internet Booking Engine with Multi-GDS capability
is being developed currently for the client that is to be completely integrated with
the system.
Reports in Multiple Formats
Reports in multiple formats like excel sheet, PDF, spreadsheet, html etc are
available throughout the system.
Online Auditing
Based on master data all the sales records are audited online at the time of
entering the data. The user can overrule the audit option and in this case user is
responsible for violation of audit rule.
