DAAD Masters Scholarships for PPGG


Objectives of the Programme:
Offers of obtaining a Masters degree in germany in disciplines that are of
special relevance for the social, political and economic development of their
home country

Target Group:
Very well Bachelor graduates with professional experience and for midcarrer professional, who in the future want to actively contribute to the
social and economic development of their home countries

Principal Funds:
A German Course in Germany, a monthly scholarship rate of currently 750
and health insurance

General Prerequisites and Requirements PPGG


Offered only for certain study programmes and universities
Having a political and social engagement
The University degree should have been obtained during the six years
before the application for the scholarship
Bachelor degree holders with a minimum GPA of 2,75 (out of 4)
knowledge of English (and German)
Applicants cannot be considered if they have been in Germany for more
than 15 months at the time of application
All Master courses have further additional requirements that must be
fulfilled by the applicants at any case!

DAAD application form for research Grants and Study Scholarship (can be downloaded at

Motivation Letter containing a precise description of the applicants academic / professional and
personal reasons for wishing to participate in the programme
Full Curriculum Vitae including information about precise field of study and, if applicable,
description of the job experience

Recent language certificates (Based on each Univs Requirement)


Copies of acquired university degrees (an explanation of the grading system has to be attached)
Copies of the transcript of records
Two letters of recommendation by university professors and/or current or former employers; the
letter must have a signature and office stamp and must be of recent date (not in a sealed
envelope)
All Master courses have further additional requirements that must be fulfilled by the applicants at
any case!

Selection Process of PPGG


Application Period: June 1st to July 31st (depends on each study
programme)

The application documents should be sent to each desired universities


(max. three universities), not to DAAD Regional Office Jakarta!
The selection process takes place at the universities
Scholarships are usually awarded for the following winter semester (2016).
Only those who are granted the scholarship will be notified via E-mail/
DAAD Portal by the DAAD headquarter in roughly December 2015
The scholarship documents will be obtained through the DAAD Portal

DAAD Masters Scholarships for NaWaM


Objectives of the Programme:
Promotes research projects to develop, adapt and internationally
disseminate technologies and strategies for the sustainable management
of the resource "Water". Of particular interest in this context are the
thematic fields of Water and Energy, Water and Health, Water and
Nutrition, Water and Environment, as well as Water in Urban Areas
Target group:
Graduates (Master) and doctoral candidates
Principal Funds:
A German Course in Germany, a monthly scholarship rate of currently
750 (for Master); 1000 (for Doctor) and health insurance

General Prerequisites and Requirements NaWaM


Offered only for certain study programmes and universities
Highly-qualified graduates, who have graduated from their studies in Engineering or
Natural Sciences subjects no longer than six years ago
For Master Candidate: able to study in selected English-spoken Master's programmes
at German universities (for Master Degree) namely Hydro Science and Engineering,
Water Resources and Environmental Management, Water Resources Engineering and
Management, Water Science
For Doctoral Candidate: able to carry out his/her PhD project in Germany in the
thematic fields of Water and Health (particularly, the treatment of emerging
pollutants and pathogens in the water cycle) or Water and Environment
(particularly regional water resources management for sustainable water protection )
