Thank you for choosing our embedded DVR product, please carefully read the following contents before you use the product:

Precautions:

The following contents describe the correct use method of the product as well as the measures to prevent danger or

property loss, please be sure to observe the requirements.

Please operate the DVR in the allowable temperature and humidity range.

Do not install the DVR in damp, dusty or sooty locations.

Please install the product horizontally and pay attention to preventing the product from falling.

Install it in a well ventilated place, and do not block the vents of the product.

Do not place any containers filled with liquids or other devices on the product.

Do not disassemble the product randomly.

Please choose the hard disk that is recommended by hard disk manufacturers and suitable for the embedded DVR.

The real product shall prevail, and this instruction is for reference only.

There may be technical inaccuracies or typographical errors in this product manual.

The products or procedures described in this product manual may be subject to improvement or update at any time

without further notice.

The screenshots in this product manual are not those of the same model, for illustrative purpose only.

Note: Full-featured DVR is taken as an example, serving as a reference for other models.
I. Host Connection and Start
1.1 Host internal SATA hard disk does not support hot plugging, please connect and fix the hard disk connecting line before
starting the machine.
1.2 Video output on DVR is connected to the video input interface of the monitor BNC (or the display VGA), turn on the
monitor or the display.
1.3 Connect the power supply to the power interface on the DVR, the device starts and enters into the system.

II. System Login


2.1 Connect the mouse, click the right mouse button, select the main menu; the user login dialog box pops up. Select the
user login (administrator user name: admin; Password: 123456; ordinary user: user; Password: 123456), the user password and
user permission can be modified in the user administration, and it can also add new users.
2.2 The machine starts and automatically records. Under preview mode, users can click the right mouse button and select
"Manual recording" for selection configuration.

2.4 Record Plan Settings: Click the right mouse button "Main Menu" "Configuration Management" "Channel
Configuration" "Record Plan", click the configuration to set. As shown below:

[Channel] Select the channel number. The menu uses green, yellow and red to display the time plan of the three kinds of
recording status: Regular, MD and Alarm of the corresponding channels within a week, which can be modified by clicking the
[Configuration] corresponding to each date.
[Copy] Copy the configuration to other channels.
Click [Configuration]
[Time Period] Set the recording time period, there are six time periods per day to choose from.
[Regular] After selected, it is valid for regular recording.
[MD] After selected, it is valid for MD recording.
[Alarm] After selected, it is valid for alarm recording.

III. Local Alarm Configuration


3.1 Local alarm configuration: Click the right mouse button "Main Menu" "Configuration Management"
"Alarm Configuration" , as shown below:

[Alarm Input Channel No.] Select the alarm input channel.


[Enable] Select Enable to control the ON and OFF of alarm input.
[Type] Two selection modes: Normal Open and Normal Close.
[Copy] Copy the configuration to other channels.
[Processing] Click Processing and enter into the setting interface of alarm processing, the interface is shown in Figure 4-16.
[Arming Time period] The menu will display the arming time, entering into the edit plan can configure the arming time of each
day.
[Linkage Set] Click Enable to start the linkage of [Recording Channel Linkage], [PTZ Linkage], [Polling] and [Capture],
and select the linkage channels.
[Processing] Click Enable to start the [Alarm Output], [Screen Prompt], [Send Email] and [Beep].
Alarm cancel delay time can be set as 10-300s.

. Network Settings
4.1 Enter into the network configuration: Click the right mouse button Main Menu Configuration Management
Network Configuration
1. To automatically get the IP address, tick the [automatically get the IP address], automatic search IP function (i.e.
DHCP). When DHCP is opened, IP/Mask /Gateway cant be set. If current DHCP becomes effective, then the
IP/Mask/Gateway displays that the value obtained by DHCP can be found in Network State.
2. View the got IP address in Network State.

3. After successfully getting the IP address, click Advanced DDNS to select DVR SERVER in DDNS Type
column, tick Enable and click App. for confirmation. After about 1 minute, we will see that the ID column
displays the exclusive ID number of the machine. Write down the ID.

4. Enter into the settings of network transmission capacity, port and main playing, modify the port number of DVR, and
the TCP, HTTP and port numbers range from 1 to 655,35. The way to use UPNP automatic forwarding port is as
follows:
4.1 Initiate the UPNP function of the router: take TP-link as an example: enter into the router Forwarding
Rules Initiate UPNP Settings, as shown below:

Note: The factory default ports of DVR include HTTP port 80 and TCP port 800. If there is more than one DVR under the
same router, please modify the port of each DVR, in order to ensure that there is no repeated DVR port. Otherwise, it will
forward with the last IP address of the same port number, i.e. the router will only map the last added IP address.

. IE Access Method
5.1 The IE controls are set in the following ways.
5.1.1 Right click the browser icon

5.2.1 Taking the setting demonstration provided in the item 4 of Network Settings as an example: (note: For remote
access of users, please subject to the parameters set by the users themselves)

5.3.1 DVR host settings: Right click Main Menu Configuration Management Network Configuration

Description:
1. Device ID: Cloud service connection ID number. Use this ID for connection in cloud service IE. Please
bear this ID number in mind.
2. The service password is the user password of the machine: The factory default is A0Yzk5
3. Note: The ID number of each device is different, so please refer to the ID number shown in the device;
as to the password, please pay attention to the capital and small letters.

5.3.2 Enter the cloud service address http://www.vssweb.net into the IE address bar

Description:
1. Enter the device ID number in the DVR into the Serial number column: such as ID number 0f004ca1
2. Password: factory default: please subject to that displayed by the machine (Both the factory default ID
and password of each device are different; pay attention to the capital and small letters of the password)
3. After completing the input, click Login to enter into the monitoring interface.
4. User login: User can register an account to conduct centralized management for multiple devices.
5. When registering an account, it is required to fill in the E-mail in use to activate the account, otherwise

the account can not be activated. Some electronic mailboxes may treat the activation mails as junk ones,
so please find in the junk e-mails.

5.3.3 Enter into the monitoring interface as shown below:

1.4 Record Search: remote playback of record data and download, as shown below:

. Select the record type


. Select the start time and end time of the record playback.
. Click Search and the search results will be displayed in the list (the maximum number of
lists is 100).
. Select the time period to be played and click Play to return to the monitoring interface for
playing.

green indicates that the current channel is remote playback;


yellow indicates that the current channel is on-site monitoring.

. Clicking Download can download the record data of the DVR host to the computer.

VI. Mobile Client Monitoring


This section mainly describes the instructions for installation and use in Android and IOS phones.
6.1
6.2

For IOS mobile software, please log in IOS official application search software IMSeye to download and install it.
Android can be installed by using the attached CD and copying it to computer, or searching IMSeye in Google
Market.
6.3 It can also enter the https://play.google.com/store into the computer IE address bar to search IMSeye and download
Android.
6.4 The Essential Conditions for Mobile Phones:
6.4.1 IOS software must be Version 4.1 or newer, and support iPhone 3, iPhone 3S, iPhone 4, iPhone4S, iPhone5,
iPAD 2, iPAD3 and iPAD 4.
6.4.2 Android mobile phone software version: Android version 1.5 or newer.
6.5

Main Functions:
6.5.1 Browse DVR monitor screen in real time, and support four-screen monitoring.
6.5.2 Support PTZ control (the front end should be controllable dome or PTZ)
6.5.3 Support mobile phone recording and local video playback.
6.5.4 Support mobile phone capture.

Note: For mobile phone monitoring, QCIF and CIF monitoring are recommended
Frame rate adopts 5-15 frame
Stream adopts rated stream of 62-256.

VII. Email Configuration Description


7.1 Enter into theMain Menu

SMTP Server: It must be corresponding to the Email in use;


Port: Email server communication port;
User Name: Email name;
Password: Email password;
From: Email name;
Title: Email title;
Receiver: Target Email, maximum 3 receivers at present;
SSL: SSL encryption Enable.
Event Interval: The time interval between two Emails. (Default 5s)
There are two types of Emails: One is text description, the other is picture description.
InMain Menu-Configuration Management-Alarm Configuration, tick the function of Send Email in the
Processing,
In the Main Menu-Configuration Management-Alarm Configuration, initiate the Capture Enable under the
corresponding alarm functions, it will send the Email containing picture, otherwise it will send the Email of text description;
Common Email servers and ports:
Yahoo: smtp.mail.yahoo.com 25
smtp.mail.yahoo.com 465

Regular Email sending;


SSL encrypted Email sending;

The above types of Email are for reference only; for the servers and ports etc. corresponding to the other Emails, users may log
in the corresponding Email system for inquiry.
7.2. User name password error: Check whether the Email information is correct;

7.3. Port error, for example: SSL Enable is initiated, but the port does not support. Therefore, be sure to check the port
carefully;
7.4. The recipient E-mail does not exist or has error;
7.5. E-mail Enable is not initiated;
7.6. Email server is busy, affecting Email sending.

VIII. Common Troubleshooting


The device can not be started or constantly restarted
Possible causes:
1. DVR upgrade error, please remove the hard disk to restore the factory default.
2. DVR motherboard failure, please contact the supplier for repair.
3. Hard disk failure, please replace the hard disk.
PTZ can not be controlled
Possible causes:
1. RS-485 interfaces cable is connected incorrectly, A and B ports are reversely connected.
2. The settings of PTZ decoder type, protocol, baud rate and address bit are incorrect.
3. RS-485 bus connects too much PTZs, with signal reflex, it is necessary to connect in parallel with a resistor of 120
remotely.
4. The RS-485 interface of the motherboard is damaged.
The preview images of DVR are blurred
Possible causes:
The format of video input formats are not matched, if the camera is NTSC format, while the DVR adopts PAL format, then the
preview images will be blurred.
The playback images of DVR are blurred or no video is available
Possible causes:
1. Program reading error, please try to restart the DVR.
2. Hard disk data error, please test the hard disk, and replace the hard disk if it is damaged.
3. DVR hardware failure, please contact the supplier.
DVR can not be connected via network
Possible cause:
1. Please check whether the physical network connection is normal.
2. Please check the DVR network parameter configuration.
3. Please check whether there is IP conflict within the network.
The downloaded or backup video can not be played normally
Possible causes:
1. The player is not installed correctly.
2. The backup U disk or mobile hard disk file system error.
3. No graphics acceleration software of version DX8.1 or newer is installed.
Internet Explore Crash
Possible causes:
In case of IE browser crash during access, please close it and perform the following operations in Tool option.

IX. Hard Disk Calculation and Maintenance


Hard Disk Capacity Calculation Reference
If the DVR is initially installed, please first check whether the hard disk is installed.
The capacity size of the hard disk itself
DVR has no limit on the single hard disk capacity, please select according to the requirements of video saving time.
Selection of the total capacity
The computing formula of hard disk capacity:
Total hard disk capacity (MB)=Number of channels required time (Hour) Occupied hard disk capacity per hour (MB/hour)
Note: for the capacity of the hard disk purchased on market, 1GB=1000MB, not the theoretical 1GiB=1024MiB,
therefore, in Hard Disk ManagementBasic Configuration, the displayed capacity is less than the nominal value of the
actual hard disk.
When DVR adopts the fixed-rate encoding mode, the estimations for the file size generated per hour are shown in the

When DVR adopts the variable-rate encoding mode, the file size generated per hour varies greatly, please refer to the actually
generated video file size.
