DWG Series Gateway Upgrading Introduction

Part 1. Before Upgrading

Please check firmware version in devices System Information page and confirm what firmwares
to upgrade.
1. For VXworks system DWG2000-1G, DWG2000-4G and DWG2000-8G devices, you can see
the software version is displayed in the following format:
Version Information: Product name
Recv Software version Released time

2. For the Linux DWG series of gateways, user can see the software version is displayed in the
following format:
Software Version: Software version Released time

(older series of softwares contain character dot(.) in the software version)

(software version of new series softwares begin with 0, and dont contain character dot)
Notice: Do not try to upgrade firmwares for Linux gateways on the VXworks gateways,
upgrading will fail and device may be affected.
3. The newest firmware for VXworks DWG2000-1G is Recv 20.01.04, the newest firmware for
VXworks DWG2000-4G and DWG2000-8G is Recv 9.50.43, there is no need to do upgrading if
you already have, and please contact with support@dinstar.com if you need these files.
4. In Linux system, the first 3(old firmwares) or 4(new firmwares) numbers of software version
means the vendor and file system, and the last four numbers means the released version. Dinstar
support the four following series of softwares for Linux system:
0122xxxx(1.22.xx.xx)
0222xxxx(2.22.xx.xx)
0123xxxx(1.23.xx.xx)
0223xxxx((2.23.xx.xx)
Notice: Different series of softwares can not upgrade to each other, for example, device with
firmware 0122xxxx can not upgrade to 0222xxxx firmware.
5. The newest official released firmware for Linux DWG gateways is 0807 file, every series have
this version.

Part 2. Doing Upgrading

0122xxxx(1.22.xx.xx) and 0222xxxx(2.22.xx.xx) series
1. If your current software version is under 1/2.22.04.10 and you want to upgrade the newest
firmware
1) please upgrade to transition firmware 1/2.22.04.10 first. Go to Tools--.>Firmware Upload
page, and
Step1. Upload the software file dwgapparm.ldf in Software option;
Step2. Upload the software file dwgwebarm.ldf in Web option;
Step3. Restart the device after uploading the upon two files successfully.

2) After device restarts, please go to Tools-->Upgrade Upload page, and upload the file
upgrade-01220703.tar.gz (or upgrade-01220703.tar.gz)

If upload successful, you will see the following notice, please wait 3 mins(MUST WAIT!)
When you are waiting, the DWG will auto reboot several times, thats correct.

3)After finish the 01220703/02220703 file upgrading, please go to System Information, check
the parameter userboard version.

If there is no userboard version displaying, please do not upgrade new files any more, or the
device will be affected.
If there is userboard version displaying, please go to Tools-->Firmware Upload page, and upload
the file 01220807/0220807 file.

After uploading the file successfully, please go to Tools->Restart page to restart the device.

2. If your current firmware version is 012205xx/022205xx, and you want to upgrade the newest
firmware.
1)Please go to Tools-->Firmware Upload page, and upgrade 01220601/02220601 file. After
uploading successfully, please restart the device.
2) After device is up, please repeat upon step 1.3)
3. If you current firmware version is 012206xx/022206xx, and you want to upgrade the newest
firmware, please do as the upon step 2)and step 3).
4. If your current firmware version is 012207xx/022207xx, and want to upgrade to the newest
firmware, refer to upon step1.3) check the userborad version and confirm if your device support to
upgrading or not.

0123xxxx(1.23.xx.xx) and 0223xxxx(2.23.xx.xx) series

1. If your current software version is under 1/2.23.04.10 and you want to upgrade the newest
firmware
1) please upgrade to transition firmware 1/2.23.04.10 first. Go to Tools--.>Firmware Upload
page, and
Step1. Upload the software file dwgapparm.ldf in Software option;
Step2. Upload the software file dwgwebarm.ldf in Web optin
Step3. Restart the device after uploading the upon two files successfully.

2) After device starts, please go to Tools-->Upgrade Upload page, and upload the file
upgrade-01230508/02230508.tar.gz file.

3) After finish setp2), please go to Tools-->Firmware Upload page, and upgrade the file

01230601/02230601.tar.gz. Please restart the device after finish.

4) After finish setp3), please go to Tools-->Firmware Upload page, and upgrade the file
01230703/02230703.tar.gz. Please restart the device after finish.
5) After device starts, go to System Information, check the parameter userboard version.

If there is no userboard version, please do not upgrade new files any more, or the device will
be affected. If there is userboard version displaying, please go to Tools-->Firmware Upload page,
and upload the file 01230807/0230807 file. After uploading successfully, please restart the device.
3. If your current firmware version is 012205xx/022205xx, and you want to upgrade the newest
firmware. Please repeat step 2.3), 2.4) and 2.5).
4. If you current firmware version is 012206xx/022206xx, and you want to upgrade the newest
firmware, please do the following step 2.4) and 2.5) .
5. If your current firmware version is 012207xx/022207xx, and want to upgrade to the newest
firmware, please repeat step 2.5).
Notice:
1. If your current firmware version is under xxxx0410 and you upgraded to newest firmware,
please go to System Configuration-->SIP Parameter page, and make the Use Same Local SIP
port option to be yes.

2.If your current firmware version is under or equal to 2.01.02.03, please refer to the manual
W0022_How to upgrade Firmware to 2.22.04.01.pdf to upgrade to 2.22.04.01 firmware first,
and then upgrade new firmwares according to this manual.

3.If you can not upgrade successfully, please contact with Dinstar support.

Part 3. After Upgrading

After upgrading, please login the web to check the software version and confirm if you have
upgraded successfully.
