Guidelines for Incoming 1CL Midshipmen/women
1. Upon disembarkation from vessel, reports to company and secure from your
company the following :

Sea service
Performance evaluation report

2. Within a time period of 5 working days report to the Director , Department of


Shipboard Training for de-briefing.
3. Report to the STO for :
Log-in for In-coming 1st Class
Log-in for CBT examination Number
Debriefing, Evaluation, Assessment and enrollment forms
4. Submit to the Shipboard Training Officer the xeroxed copies of the following:

SIRB ( 1st and 2nd page, embark and disembark, arrival NAIA )
Company Sea Service ( Signed and with company seal )
Performance Evaluation Report
Sea Project (bookbounded )

5. Report to assigned assessors for your assessment.


7. Upon completion of DST requirements Midshipmen / women is allowed to enroll
for their 4th Year. Submit the enrollment flowsheet for signatures to the following :

Medical Unit for medical clearance


Dean of Colleges
Registrar.

9. When Flowsheet requirement is completed , report to the STO for :

Log-in as 1st Class Midshipman/woman


Submit copies of flowsheet, evaluation forms

10. Report to respective Deans for sectioning.

Guidelines for Assesment of Grades (F1.F2.F3)
Requirements for 1CL Midshipmen/women

Midshipmen must have undergone 12 months of sea training as cadets


Submitted pertinent documents and projects as per DST guidelines #
3.6.7 for in-coming 1cl midshipmen/women.

CBT Examination. 20 %
Oral Examination. 30 %
Sea projects.. . 50 %
Total 100 %
1. CBT Examination

The CBT examination is conducted at the DST office with the


following schedule:

Deck Cadets
Engine Cadets

Mondays and Wednesdays


Tuesdays and Thursdays

Total No. of items divided by total number of corrects transmutated to


PMMA grading system multiplied by 20 %

2. Oral Examination

Cadets undergoes an Oral examination based on the training and type of


vessel he/she has boarded. The Interview will be conducted by a panel composed
of (4 )Technical Staff, instructors and DST staff with the folllowing criteria
Practical Knowledge.50 %
Confidence.30 %
Verbal Expression.20 %

Oral assesment is multiplied by 30 %

3. Sea Project
Cadets submits their Compiled sea projects fulfilling these required norms:

Must be bookbinded
Tasks and assigned projects should dated and signed by vessels
training officer
Preferably handwritten and should be legible, neatly labeled

Completed sea project grade is multiplied by 50 %
