Come to the Womens Swim Night where blinds and screens ensure
a visually secure swimming experience. Gain access to the pools, spa,

Workshop at the Womens Circus

Somewhere, Now is a free workshop for women


from refugee, asylum seeker and newly arrived
communities. Come and enjoy music, dance,
theatre and circus activities. Have fun, relax,
laugh and meet a group of wonderful women!
Children are also welcome to attend (with their
mothers/ carers).

cohealth workers, refugees, and asylum seekers
- to see and hear about local foodie delights and
how refugees and newly arrived immigrants
have contributed to Footscray being one of

support refugees and to humanise the debate.
Come and enjoy live poetry and story reading by
some of our Melbourne based refugee friends and
get to know the work that the Welcome Group does.

Asylum Seeker Resource Centre

This panel will hear from Kon Karapanagiotidis,
director of the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre,
Isabel Fitzgerald, former projects advisor at the
Human Rights Commission and two former
asylum seekers. The discussion will be followed
by the StreetWORKS mural launch at the Asylum
Seeker Resource Centre.

Creating a Welcome
Craft Winter Market

Creating a welcome, are a loose-knit community
of crafters, artists and other makers-of-things,
who have held several crafternoons to engage the
community in creating crafts to sell at the Winter
Market. All funds raised will be donated to the
Asylum Seeker Resource Centre in Footscray.

In this yet to be released film starring Reese
Witherspoon, four young Sudanese refugees
are helped by Carrie Davis after they win a lottery
for relocation to the United States. Cost: Gold

Community Bike
Shed Fun Day

11.00am-3.00pm

Mills Close, Footscray


Join in on the Fun Day as donated bikes are repaired and presented to
refugees and asylum seekers who have completed a bike road safety course.
Donate old bikes, volunteer or just come along and enjoy a BBQ lunch.
