The project aims to develop and implement models for autonomous buildings that are self-sufficient and do not rely on infrastructure services. These buildings will have minimal environmental impact through the use of technologies like daylighting, solar panels, heat pumps, and sewage treatment. The expected results are the construction of model autonomous public and private buildings in several municipalities to test and demonstrate low-energy and eco-friendly technologies. The buildings will help reduce carbon dioxide emissions and energy consumption while lowering maintenance costs for places like schools and hospitals. The project duration is estimated to be 30 months and will involve partnerships with cities in Upper Silesia along with other interested Central European partners.

Their negative impact on the environment is reduced to the minimum by using a vast variety of technologies, for instance low-energy building techniques (daylighting, solar collectors, photovoltaic systems, geothermal heat pumps, recuperators etc.), innovative water management (domestic sewage treatment plants). Especially nowadays, it is important to emit less carbon dioxide and other pollutants. Expected results The intended result is building in several municipalities model public and private objects with the use of low-energy and eco-friendly technology. The project will be used to verify technical analyses and prognoses of effectiveness of technologies which are under development. Concrete implementations will popularize the solutions and will contribute to further promotion, reduction of carbon dioxide and consumption of energy, decrease of maintenance costs of, for instance, public places like hospitals, schools, libraries etc. Conferences and meetings concerning this issue will increase the awareness of both public authorities and citizens. Estimated total cost ( if known) N/A Estimated project duration (in months) 30 months Partners involved at this stage Several Upper Silesian cities: Siemianowice lskie, Dbrowa Grnicza Further partners requested Partners from Central European regions interested in: following/setting new trends in environmentally friendly and sustainable architecture or measuring the results of the project. Cities, municipalities and NGO from Silesia and other CE regions. Partners' benefits Cooperation will provide access to the results of the project and enable our partners to establish new contacts across the Central Europe. The project offers also the possibility to implement new building techniques. It can contribute to the increase of competition in building trade and decrease of maintenance costs of public buildings (by reducing CO2 emission). It may improve local image of authorities and companies. What is innovative Although some of its assumptions are known, the precise idea of autonomous building is not widely spread. Already prepared examples of this kind of construction would be a strong stimulus for municipalities, cities and people. Innovative is implementing such modern technologies. Follow-up project of The project will create new possibilities and conditions for proper development of the idea of autonomous buildings. It is based on a project under development. On the base of it many organizations can initiate their own actions to promote sustainable architecture. Other funding Programme Public-private partnership, municipal bonds, ecological funds
