entered into the international Volvo Adventure:

An all expenses paid trip to Gothenburg for five young people and two adults to the global Volvo
Adventure Conference for young environmentalists in 2006, in association with the United Nations
Environment Programme.
A chance to compete against other young environmentalists from around the world for an international
award of $10,000, $6000 or $4000 to fund environmental activities.
The runner up group will be visited by TV presenter and wildlife journalist, Chris Packham.

English Woodland Grant Scheme (EWGS)
Run by the Forestry Commission, this scheme
offers grants to help with the creation of new
woodlands and to encourage the good

woodlands.

for grants under the EWGS. However, areas of
trees too small or narrow to be thought of as
woodlands will not be eligible. Normally the
woodland would have to be a quarter of a
hectare in area and at least 15 metres wide, but
smaller woods may be eligible if the aims of
the scheme are met.

Watermark Award (Wessex Water)

environmental projects in the Wessex Water
Region (Somerset, Wiltshire, Bristol, Dorset
and customers of Wessex Water in Hampshire
and Gloucestershire). Grants are from £100 to
£1,500, awarded quarterly. One gold award of
£2,500 for a special project will be awarded
each quarter. Emergency grants are available.

B&Q are able to provide materials such as timber, gardening products, plants etc valued between £50
and £500 for community projects.
B&Q offer help to twenty local groups, organisations or charities, also youth groups, with £5000 worth
of B&Q products, for projects which make a real difference to their premises or community project.
