Course Description
This course covers the empirical and conceptual foundations of General Psychology; this is
primarily for students who need a broad understanding on concepts of human behavior and its origin and
development
Course Objectives/Values
At the end of the course, the students are expected to recognize the relevance of psychological
concepts to General Psychology, to understand the functional role that the various fields of Psychology
have in every aspect of human experiences, to appreciate the value of psychological principles and
application in all of lifes processes and in making people adept at life, to trace the beginnings of the
practical setting with psychology and the development of behavior; and to appreciate the value of
understanding the self as an initial step in personal transformation and in effecting change in others.
Methodology
The lecture will be conducted in an interactive form. Students are expected to attend classes and
participate actively in class discussions. Groups will be formed and students will collaborate on certain
topics. Focus Group Discussions, Quizzes, Cooperative Learning Strategies, Integration paper,
simulations and projects that might arise will be utilized to stir student learning.

Teaching Methods/Strategies
Lecture, insight sharing, focus group discussion, assignments, simulations are used as teaching
strategies in this course.
Requirements
1. Compliance with all the requirements and exams
2. Quizzes after every discussions( objective and simulations)
3. Recitation and participation in class are encouraged and expected.
4. Attendance, preparation and promptness are closely monitored
Classroom Policies and Consultation Hours
1. Attendance is noted at the start of the class. Three consecutive tardiness equates to 1 absent
2. Students may come for consultation schedule : Mondays: 1-2pm ,Tuesday: 10-11am and
Thursday : 10-11am at OZ Clinic 3rd Floor
