 Who are You and Where are You Going?
People love titles. A
union started labeling
maids as household
technicians. Teachers
are now being called
“educators.” Waitresses
are now “servers.”
Stewardesses are now
“flight attendants,” and housewives are
“domestic engineers.” I suppose that
beats the term for garbage collectors –
“sanitation engineers!” Pardon me if my
shorter hair exposes my red neck, but
why do we have to have a title? When
your child skins his knee, he doesn’t
need a “domestic engineer” but his
mommy.
Benjamin Franklin was an inventor,
ambassador, statesman, signer of the
Declaration of Independence, and
crafter of our country. His tombstone
reads: “Ben Franklin, printer.” If you
know who you are, you don’t have to
convince anyone else. Jesus calls us His
“servants.”
We are redeemed children of God and
joint-heirs with Christ. When we know
who we are, then we can discover what
we should do. God’s job description is
simply to serve Him and others as you
love Him with all your might. Allow
what you are and have to be used for
God’s intended purposes. However,
make sure that you are following the
Great Commander in Chief.
Guest Reception
There is a guest reception in the Commons immediately following the
Saturday night and the 11:00 a.m. Sunday morning service. Come and meet
Dr. Wicker.
Hawaii was jolted when suddenly “the
few and the proud” of the Marines were
fewer by two. A private and a corporal
were put in the brig back in the 80’s for
a small breech of military etiquette –
they took a 19-ton amphibious assault
vehicle on a joy ride. The battlefield
brontosaurus, designed to carry 25
heavily-armed soldiers into combat,
began a 5-mile journey by crashing
through a fence at the Kaneohe Station.
Driving around in such a vehicle when
there is no fighting going on amounts
to a kind of a lie. Looking tough may not
actually be tough. Besides, many things
in life require getting permission.
While the battle for godliness rages,
let’s brandish “the sword of the Spirit”
and wear the armor of God as we go
in the right direction. Let’s not do like
those Marines and sideswipe a car but
rather stay in the lane of God’s plan.
Our lives and this ministry are no joy
ride, but can influence people for
eternity and must be taken seriously.

“Private Wicker reporting for duty, Sir!”
That’s who I am and what I do.

 First Steps Class
A First Steps Class for children in 1st through
4th grades, who would like to get baptized,
will begin on Sunday, February 28th at 11:00
a.m. This 4 week class covers the topics of
salvation, baptism, communion, being a part
of the church, and growing as a child of God.

Parent Dedication Class

The next Parent Dedication Class will be
held Sunday, February 21 at 11:00 in room
ED166. This class is for parents wanting
to dedicate themselves and their child
to the Lord during the Worship Service.

New Baby Born

Raquel Alexa Strakaluse was born on February
11, 2010 to Greg and Camille Strakaluse. She
weighed 7 pounds and 5 ounces and measured 17
1/2 “ long. Raquel has a big older brother named
Roman. Congratulations to the family.

Anna’s Tea
Anna’s Tea is a ministry of the deacon’s wives to the widows
of our congregation. The next gathering will be on Monday,
February 22 in room WC117 starting at 1:30 p.m. The special
guest speaker will be Karen Head. Please sign up in the

We started our mission’s ministry in
1999.
The Need: As missionaries,
we assist ABWE missionaries with
building projects globally. Presently
we manage 70 building projects in
20 different countries. The need is
great to have
Bill & Ginny
come alongside
missionaries to
assist with their
building projects.
Through this
process, the
missionaries do
not lose focus and
valuable time that
is needed in their ministry. We have
demonstrated through this building
process we can save approximately
30-50 % on building costs, make sure
Donor’s funds are used effectively
and the end result is people coming
to know Christ.
Since 1999, God has led us
to South Africa, West Africa, Ghana,
Togo, the Gambia, Philippines,
Kosovo, Portugal, Bangladesh and
various portions of South America.
God has used us effectively in this
unique ministry to build Churches,
Schools, Mission Hospitals, Church
Camps and other Christian related
facilities globally. Our prayer as we
serve God is that people will be saved
or grow closer to Christ through the
Projects that God has us involved in.
We have a financial shortfall of
around $1,600 monthly to effectively
facilitate our ministry around the
