Aerospace Engineer
Develop and enhance critical US missile defense systems serving on projects including EKV, MKV-R, LCKV, SM-3, and
RKV. Created high fidelity sensor models utilizing noise, background, detector, cryo instability, solar exclusion, frame
summing and resolved target models. Used PSF model to research calibration, target radiometry, smear, vibration, and
solar loading effects on performance. Included temperature gradients, target dynamics, radiance/irradiance for resolved
target model and scene generation. Determined gamma radiation noise and effects of X-rayed mirror deformations on
PSF and nuclear hardening models. Equipment operations training and developed test equipment analysis tools
including sensor alignment calibration, cryo-test temperature stability tools, and a background subtraction frame
summing tool. Provided lethal aim point modeling, passive ranging estimation modeling, and pixel replacement
modeling. Enhanced video processing utilizing background subtraction analysis, frame summing schemes, radiometry
and filters. Improved theater object mapping with radar blending modeling and analysis. Updated 6-DOF sensor model
from low fidelity to high speed quasi-high fidelity.
Achievements:

Invented an accurate passive range estimator with eight times the accuracy of the nearest competitors capability.

Increased target acquisition range by more than 25% for a given sensor design.

Created pixel replacement scheme to compensate for the large number of dead pixels and improve radiometry and
discrimination and target position estimates.

Enhanced sensor performance with subpixel frame shifting scheme to improve acquisition range, radiometry and
discrimination, and target position estimates.

Helped develop Theater Object Mapping analysis tools incorporating multiple radars to improve discrimination
performance.

Developed a space scene generator tool including resolved objects with temperature gradients, motion dynamics,
coning, and blur.
