GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Please be in your exercise outfit. (T-Shirt, jogging pants & rubber shoes)
2. Bring sweat towels, and bottled water individually.
3. Prepare for a physically challenging activity.
4. Reading assignment: Aerobic Exercise (Kisner 2007, Chapter 7, page 231-248 )
5. Prepare an Aerobic Exercise Program per group. (There will be assigned target
population per group)
a. The Aerobic exercise program that you will prepare should vary per group (ex:
group 1 is dance aero, grp 2 is a circuit-interval training). Be creative in
making your exercise program. It should also be interesting for the
clients/patients.
Expected Time Allotment for Activities
Check-in: 5-10 mins. (measuring of baseline
data, VS, HR, etc.)
Warm-up: 5-10 mins.

General improvement in fitness and weight
loss for a middle aged woman

Improving cardiorespiratory endurance for a


geriatric patient with mild hypertension

Groups 1,4,5,8,9
SPECIFICATIONS:
Create a group exercise program where a
30 year old woman with a height of 5 ft. 3
inches and weight of 170 lbs. could join
and improve her fitness and lose weight

Groups 2,3,6,7,10

She is a housewife and this will be the first


time she will undergo an exercise regimen.
b. The Exercise proper should NOT exceed 45 minutes. The time should be
appropriate (ex: warm-up should be 10-15 min only, while exercise proper
should not be less than 30min. Rest periods should also have appropriate
time)
c. Please include approrpiate warm-up and cool-down in your program.
d. There should be strict monitoring for your VS (individually), whether selfmonitored or someone monitors the VS. Its up to your groups strategy.
e. The program should be open for modifications for individuals who need extra
attention during strenuous activities like this: (ex: students who are obese,
overweight, asthmatic, with HPN etc). This will show the flexibility of your
program to precautions and how you monitor each others conditions during
the exercise program.
6. It is your responsibility to bring all the necessary materials, props (ex: wand, chair)
etc for your groups Aero program.
7. You will be tasked to create a powerpint presentation/report about your exercise
program and present it to your classmates and facilitatiors. This will contain:
a. Title page
b. The title of your exercise program (ex: Lets jog to fitness!~Jogging, or
Advocacy for sexiness ~pole dancing), This depends on your theme.
c. The description of your exercise program containing why you chose this type
of program. What is the inspiration/ objective.
d. The complete exercise prescription (complete exercise parameters), including
how you plan to progress each exercise/activity
i. Warm up
ii. Aero proper
iii. Cool down
8. You are also tasked to develop individual aerobic exercise log sheets for your group
wherein you could document and log the data and information (VS) that you will
gather.
