for a private Wedding Party
In the last few weeks I have had the privilege of
spending time with some if the most fantastic children in
the planet. You can only imagine the wonder experienced
in our moments together...
...the joyful laughter of young ones as they jump and stomp
on my laundry in a bucket in fervent effort to get it clean :)
...Startled faces on little children as the white girl tries to
put a 20 liter container of water on her head and it falls
off...almost crashing to the ground
...a chorus of childrens voices from small to big raised in
praise to God
...protecting wide-eyed small ones from oncoming cattle
on a dirt path
...preschoolers running through tall grass to reach the
finish line (me), making it barely possible to stay on my
feet
...the joyfully grateful face of a mkhulu (grandpa) as
we wash clothes, mend fences and eat together with his
children and grandchildren
...hugs, laughter, smiles, and more hugs and smiles every
morning, afternoon and evening as I hear Aunty Shirley
while walking through the farm meeting children with
open arms and hearts at every turn continued on page 7

One day a man goes to a pet shop to buy a parrot.
The assistant takes the man to the parrot section and
asks the man to choose one. The man asks, How much
is the yellow one?
The assistant says, $2,000.
The man is shocked and asks the assistant why its so
expensive. The assistant explains, This parrot is a special
one. He knows typewriting and can type really fast.
What about the green one? the man asks.
The assistant says, He costs $5,000 because he
knows typewriting and can answer incoming telephone
calls and takes notes.
What about the red one? the man asks.
The assistant says, That ones $10,000.
The man says, What does HE do?
The assistant says, I have no idea, but the other
two call him Boss.
A slightly drunk woman is watching TV and
yells, Dont go in there! Dont go into the church,
you dumb broad!
Her husband, reading the newspaper, looks up and
asks, What are you watching?
She says, Our wedding video.
A woman went on vacation, leaving her husband
behind. Before she left, she told him to take extra special
care of her cat. As soon as she arrived there, she called
her husband and asked if the cat was all right.
Her husband said, The cat just died.
She burst into tears and said, How could you
be so blunt? Why couldnt you have broken the news
gradually?! Today, you could have said that it was
playing on the roof; tomorrow, you could have said that
it fell off and had broken its leg; then on third day, you
could have said that the poor thing had passed away in
the night. You could have been more sensitive about the
whole thing!
Im sorry, dear, the husband said, Ill try to be
more sensitive in the future.
By the way, hows mother doing? the wife asked.
Shes just fine. Right now shes playing on the roof.
