1. This assignment is to be done in group of maximum 5 students.
2. All submission must be in ENGLISH
3. Drawings and sketches are to be done manually and NOT to be done in pencils.
4. Delay in submission shall be treated as NON-SUBMISSION
5. Plagiarism is a serious offence and will render offenders liable to disciplinary action as
set out in the UiTM rules and regulation
6. Your proposal must consider the integrated environment, ambiance, rules and culture of
the location specified for your group task

ASSIGNMENT 1 - QUESTIONS
You are a building services consultant for commercial and administrative building development.
Your new client, NHY Properties Bhd, wishes to invest in high rise residential development as
briefed in Appendix A. As the appointed consultant, you are to make a proposal and your tasks
are as follows:
A. Produce a simple introduction of your company profile, outlining the objectives of your
proposals. (C1, C2, P1, P2, A1, CTPS1, CTPS2, LS1, LS2)
Tips : You may Google search for company profile to see examples of company profile available
throughout the world, but you must cite the website you referred in your reference.

B. Produce a proposal report that analyzes the water treatment and water supply process to
the development. Your report must consist of (but not limited to) the following:

1. Propose a suitable site location plan for your client, relevant to the function of the
intended building. Your proposal must show the nearest raw water resources that
could be used for the users of this development. (C1, C2, P1, P2, A1, CTPS1,
CTPS2, CTPS3)
Tips : You may Google image search for site location plan and Google map search for the
available raw water resources for that particular location, but you must cite the website you referred
in your reference.

2. Propose the most suitable and cost effective method to treat and provide clean
treated water to the development, with the aid of sketches from the proposed raw
water resource to the development. (CO1, CO2, CO3, C1, C2, P1, P2, P3, A1,
CTPS1, CTPS2, and CTPS3). Your proposal must include :
a. Methods of selecting suitable raw water

b. Methods of purifying raw water
(10 marks)
c. Methods of distributing purified water to the development
(10 marks)
d. Justification on why your proposed methods are suitable and cost effective
(4 marks)

3. Based on that sketch design, propose handwritten design and layout of hot water
(HW) and cold-water (CW) supply plumbing for the building. Your proposal must
include (CO1, CO2, CO3, C1, C2, P1, P2, P3, A1, CTPS1, CTPS2, CTPS3)
a. Schematic drawing of CW supply from Meter to water tanks, and to
distribution outlets. Indicate all sizes and materials of all the water tanks and
pipes

b. A schematic drawing of HW supply from Meter to water tanks to heaters, and
to distribution outlets. Indicate all sizes and materials of all the water tanks,
water heaters and pipes

c. A detailed drawing of the water tank.
