VENI DOMINE

Last year, December 06, 2014, my brother took me to a concert in

Pampanga. He was the accompanist and I was the page turner. I really had fun in
this concert. I love the songs, the choir and everything about the concert. Songs
were really of good choice. This is actually the first time I have heard of Christmas
songs like Angels Carol and Christmas Lullaby by John Rutter. The concert was
excellent and no doubt, if I will have another chance to see a concert like this, I
would surely go again.

FILIPINO POP TENORS

This is not the first time that I have watched a concert like this. I have been
to several concerts at Paco Park because of my brother. I can say that the singers in
this concert were good. But the sound system they were using was kinda bad. They
sang too close to the microphone. Their voices blended well but because of the
microphones, their voices were over empowering each other which made it sound a
little bad. The songs were very familiar to me especially the song Nahan which
became my favorite. I think that if the sound system was good, the concert would
have been better. Other than that, the whole concert itself was okay.

FILIPINO RECITAL
The singers in this recital were indeed good. But honestly there are 2 singers
that I did not like. The way they sang was a bit out of tune. I am not a good singer
myself but whenever I hear voice major who sings out of tune, I get a bit
disappointed but of course, I believe that they can still improve their skills. I really
liked Vell Barias performance, it was very meaningful and her gestures were really
good. It is not very easy to sing with a lot of body movement but she did really well.
Another performance I really liked was Isaacs performance. It was a very emotional
song and he did a very good job of making the audience feel the meaning of the
song.

SMEC

This is one of the most memorable concerts that I have seen. All the
performers were really good, especially our school. I am not saying this because I
am part of this school, but I am saying this because I saw the effort and hard work
that they did. Iisang Bangka is a very familiar song to me. And for me, I really liked
our schools rendition of this song. It was simple yet elegant. Other schools did well
too, all performers really gave everything they can. I loved all the songs.

ST.CECILIAS CONCERT 2014 An American Affair

This is the very first time that I have heard sir Diaz sing solo. He performed
really well! I was really surprised on the way that the singers performed, especially
the song A Boy Like That from West Side Story. I have heard about the movie but I
was not very familiar with the songs. But then hearing them sing, it was great. I
loved their performance!

THE PHILIPPINE MADRIGAL SINGERS KAKAKILIG

The Madrigal singers are very famous. But I must admit, this is the first time I
watched their concert, live. I have seen videos of them singing but I was not
impressed with the videos. Hearing them sing live changed everything I thought
about them. They are really good. No, they are excellent. I loved there renditions of
the songs. They sang old Filipino songs and gave a twist to it. And it was very funny.
The songs they sang were very relatable. Other song were translated to French but I
still loved it. Overall comment about the concert is that, it was great. I think more
people should watch more of the Madrigals.

ANA MARIA
This is the very first zarzuela that I have seen. I thought that it will be boring
because my brother told me before that zarzuelas are usually very long and
very boring. But this is a different zarzuela. I enjoyed this zarzuela because the
story was simple yet very appealing to the audience. The story was simple, the
actors/ singers did a great job with the acting and the singing. I can say that this
zarzuela is a success. The songs were really very nice and the actors did well on
everything that they did on stage. I just hope that there will be more zarzuelas
like this that we could watch. As music students, I think that being exposed to
this kind of theater act is a very good way for us to learn more about the theater
plays and observe on how they can do the singing with all the acting.

JUNIOR RECITAL BERNADETTE SABANDAL

I have heard ate Bernadette sing in forums before, but the way she sang
during her junior recital was just marvelous. The performance she gave was just
excellent. I like her voice for it is very sweet. The recital was great and I hope to
hear her sing more!

PACO PARK PRESENTS Women And Song

I have heard them sing in school before, so hearing them sing in Paco Park no
longer surprise me. St Scho has a lot of very talented singers. I loved Ilaens
performance. But I guess she was kinda nervous when she was singing. But despite
her being nervous, I love her. It was an awesome performance. I also liked Isaacs
performance. As I was expecting, he is very good too. Also kuya Miko Galang, I
always hear him singing whenever I walk by the corridors of the music building and
honestly sometimes, it creeps me out. But hearing him sing during the concert was
great. He sang well too.

HIMIG MANILENO
This is the first choir competition that I have watched. Again, thanks to my
brother, who was a judge in this competition, I get exposed to such activities. Some
of the performers were not good. But 2 schools who joined the competition caught
my attention. Manila Science who sang Bo ma la ka, it sounded like an African song.
At first the competition was really boring me to death, but when I heard them sing,
it was like my body woke up by itself. I love the way they sang it. Everything was
balanced, and they did a good job singing. Another school that caught my attention
was Ramon Magsaysay HS. They really had a good soung. They sang Idemdem
mallday. The first contestant, I am not gonna mention the schools name, but I got
really disappointed with them because they were first to perform but there
performance was really bad. They sang Let It Be by the beatles and there was no
variation to the sound. Melody cant be heard and the song was sung mostly unison.
It did not appeal to me in anyway. I really hated the first performance. The second
contestant sang Iisang Bangka, school was PUP. They did a good job in choosing this
song, also they had good dynamics but it was kinda repetitive. Contestant no. 3 was
good too, they sang Sabihin Mo Ako ay Pilipino. SATB was present in their song.
Other performers were okay, but I really hated the first contestant and whenever I
remember them singing, I get pissed off because it was really horrible.
