MISSION STATEMENT
To encourage students to excel in their engineering curriculum, and pursue a career in the rotorcraft industry.
PROGRAM GOAL
The Igor Sikorsky Scholarship Program seeks to prepare participants for full time employment opportunity at Sikorsky
Aircraft Corporation, by providing appropriate training, mentoring and job assignments geared towards development of a
meaningful technical career.
DESCRIPTION
The ISSP provides tuition assistance to talented students pursuing studies in Aerospace Engineering,
Mechanical/Materials Engineering, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering or Computer Science at a
four-year accredited college/university. Scholarship recipients will receive a $10,000 award per academic year paid
directly to their academic institution. The scholarship award is renewable annually given the recipient meets the continued
eligibility requirements of the program.
The scholarship recipient will complete a minimum of two 10-week paid internship at Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation each
year scholarship assistance is awarded. The first internship will be completed at Sikorsky Aircrafts headquarters in
Stratford, Connecticut. However, subsequent opportunities may be available at facilities in Fort Worth, TX, Coatesville,
PA and West Palm Beach, FL pending requisitions. Each recipient will be assigned an engineering mentor for the duration
of their summer internship. Recipients will also be reimbursed for up to $3,500 for their incurred summer housing and
travel expenses.
PROCEDURE
1. Carefully read the Eligibility Requirements and Letter of Understanding. Sign and date the Letter of Understanding.
2. Submit the following application materials to the Program Coordinator(s) to the email listed below before the
scholarship deadline of February 28th, 2014:

CONTINUED ELIGIBILITY:
1. Recipient must have a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.0 or greater at the end of each semester. Failure to
maintain the required CGPA for any given semester will result in probationary status. Any subsequent failure to
maintain the required CGPA for any given semester will result in termination of the scholarship.
2. Recipient must abide by the Sikorsky code of conduct, ethics, and all other policies/procedures during the course of
their summer internship. Failure to abide by these guidelines will be grounds for termination of the scholarship.
3. Recipient must submit a plan of study which details the classes he/she intends to take for the upcoming academic
year, any intended co-op programs (no tuition will be provided during co-op participation), graduation date, and
requirements for graduation.
The scholar must put any deviation from the plan of study in writing to the scholarship committee.
Any deviation entailing extending the scholarship award requires a request for an extension, which will be
evaluated by the scholarship committee.
Payment of tuition for the upcoming semester is contingent upon receipt of an updated plan of study and official
transcript including the preceding semester. The plan of study must indicate which courses have been completed
and a brief status report describing the scholars' progress through the curriculum.
4. Recipient must remain in an engineering curriculum. If recipient sits out or works for any portion of the academic
year (summer session not included), he or she must be enrolled and matriculating in school for at least one semester or
two quarters or trimesters of the year.
5. Recipient must complete a 10-week internship each summer prior to the sponsored academic school year. A minimum
of two internships is required.

Subsequent internships can be completed at facilities in Fort Worth, TX, Coatesville, PA and West Palm Beach,
FL pending requisitions.
6. The recipient may substitute a school sponsored cooperative work program for the required Sikorsky summer
internship. However, the start date of the co-op cycle must fall between May 1 st and June 30th of the given year.
7. Recipient must receive a rating of Progressing or higher on the Performance Feedback Tool (PFT) used to evaluate
the scholars performance to mutually agreed upon objectives for the internship.
8.
Recipient must participate in all ISSP related training, workshops, community service events or any other activities
scheduled during the summer internship.
