Eighteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Pope Francis is reminding Christian families to guard against being swept away by a
hectic, competitive throw-away society. Jesus calls us to center our work and
activity in Him the bread of life! Make sure to make time for family meals,
Sabbath rest, prayer and conversation that includes God.

Join Fr. Glaros for a Charismatic Prayer Group which will meet Sunday, August 2,
12:15 pm, at Immaculate Conception Church in Hitch Hall . Todays session will be
the Prayer and Praise. All are encouraged to attend, reservations are not
necessary.

Congratulations to Ivan Morber the first early bird drawing winner from the
Happy Days Picnic Raffle. Tickets will be sold up until the picnic following all
Masses. The next early bird drawing will be today. It is our goal this year to
sell 800 tickets..we have currently sold 376 tickets. Please consider selling
tickets to friends, neighbors, relatives and co-workers, winners need not be
present. The next picnic meeting will be Wednesday, August 12, this will be a
working meeting. Anyone wishing to donate gifts towards the raffle baskets please
do so by the 5th, as we will begin to assemble baskets then. A volunteer sign is
placed in the vestibule of the church, anyone wishing to help with the picnic, please
provide your name and contact information; you will be contacted closer to the
picnic.
326 Holy Hours were kept with Our Lord in Eucharistic Adoration last week.
When you need to talk and you are all alone, When others will not listen, Jesus
is always at home. You are welcome any time to stop in and spend ten minutes
or longer....Please take advantage of what the adorers do for you. Contact Judy

good men and women to join the ministry of Adult Funeral Altar Servers.
Servers assist the priest during funeral liturgies. Participants must be

7- 8:25am AM on Saturday, August 8. We will continue our DVD series Decision Point by Matthew

at Prince of Peace.
Please bring any kind of a salad condiment to add to our Big Lettuce Salad to be
shared by all. All seniors are welcome to enjoy an afternoon of friendship and
refreshments.
The next round of Euchre will be Friday, August 7 beginning at 6:30pm in the
school cafeteria.
Players of all ages are welcome to attend. Come and enjoy
an evening out with fellow parishioners.

The highlight of summer!! Every year after The FEST we receive a ton of emails from
those who were there telling us how much they enjoyed our annual Catholic Family
FESTival and how it was the highlight of their summer. Dont miss out on Sunday, August
9 as we come TOGETHER for The FEST from 12 noon until 10 pm at the CPL (28700
Euclid Avenue in Wickliffe). Come hear great music (MercyMe, Steven Curtis Chapman,
Building 429, and Matt Maher) along with great activities and displays. Check out Marcs Moms
Relaxation Station with over 150,000 give away items for busy moms. Dads can spend time in the TroyBilt Dads Den to learn about being a man of faith. Its the perfect family day- TOGETHER. Theres plenty

Marcs). Come and get a brat off the worlds largest grill while watching your kids learn lessons of faith

ST. PAUL ANNUAL NURSES MASS -SAVE THE DATE! Thursday, August
13, 2015 at 7:00 p.m., is the date and time for this years Annual Nurses
Mass at St. Paul Parish, 1580 Brown St., Akron, 44301. This is a wonderful
opportunity to say Thank You to all those who work to help us heal. Once
again the Peace Together Choir will sing and Fr. Neil Kookoothe R.N.
will be here to celebrate the liturgy. A reception will follow in the Parish Activity
Center.

available on the following Sundays in 2015: August 23 and September 13 - The
day will begin with registration at 10:30 a.m., followed by Mass at 11:00 a.m. Lunch

You are cordially invited to a HOLY HOUR FOR PRIESTS, each Thursday
from3-4:00pm. Please join us as we pray the General Prayers for Priests,
Chaplet of Mercy, Rosary Meditations, Litany of Precious Blood and Litany of
Mary. All are invited and encouraged to attend as we pray for all priests,
deacons and religious especially Fr. David, Fr. Glaros, Fr. Mike, Deacon Adair and
Deacon Krause.

Community Corner

Barberton Area Community Ministries item for the Month of August is Potato products, rice,
noodles, or boxed dinners.

Thank you again for all your support in helping us serve our brothers and sisters in need. All
donations can be placed in the bench in front of the giving tree in the vestibule of the church. Donations
are picked up on Monday mornings.

CAMP PROMISE - Akron General Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service will be serving
children in our community through Camp Promise, a four day bereavement camp for
children ages six-eleven who have experienced the death of a loved one. Camp
Promise dates are August 3-6, 2015. In addition, July 31 they will offer the second
annual one-day grief camp for teens ages twelve-sixteen.
As we know, the death of someone dear, can be devastating to a young person.
Camp Promise is a day-camp that responds to a young persons bereavement needs.
In a safe, non-threatening environment, trained bereavement professionals and
volunteers provide a process that enables young people to express his/her own grief
experience through play, drama, music, journaling & art.

at 330-668-4662, camp fills up quickly and space is limited.
Camp Christopher's September Song is an excellent choice for anyone who enjoys meeting new people,
spending time outside and making new memories. Throughout the day, campers are offered a variety of
activities from which to choose: daily Mass or prayer services, swimming, crafts, canoeing, hiking,
riding the zipline, or simply relaxing on the beach. September Song campers can be as active or as

relaxed as they choose. September Song 2015 begins Sunday, August 16th and ends Friday,
August 21st. The cost is $300 per person, which includes lodging, meals,and all

Parish Appeal. We are overwhelmed by the generosity of you, our

St. Augustine Culture of Life meets in the rectory on the First Tuesday of every
month following 5:15 Mass and Benediction. Our next meeting will be held on
Tuesday, August 4. In response to 2 Chron. 7:14 "if My people , which are called by
My name, shall humble themselves and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their
wicked ways, then will I hear from Heaven and will forgive their sin, and will heal
their land." Culture of Life holds a Holy Hour for Life on the first Friday of every
month at 11:00 am, and following 12:05 Mass, whenever two or more are available,
we witness and pray at the abortion clinic on Market St. Every Wednesday at
1:00pm we have a Holy Hour for religious freedom. All are encouraged to
