Background

You are supposed to select and analyze a medium size business which is already using
information systems to handle their business processes. Gather information using requirement
gathering methods such as interviews, observations, questionnaires, document reviews, web site
visits. Etc. and produce a report with academically accepted report guidelines.
Prepare a report with approximate 6000 words covering the following tasks.
1. Organizations have different functional areas. Explain the functions of different
functional areas of the selected business organization. Identify and evaluate the
information needs of them. (LO 1.1)
2. Identify the different types of information systems available in above functional areas of

the selected business organization. Explain the functions available in those Information
Systems which is relevant to the selection. (LO 2.1)

Conclusion should reflect summarized idea about the applicability of different

types of information systems available in different functional areas of the
selected business organization proper justification should be done.(D 1.1)

3. Analyze different information systems available to solve the business problems in the
other Places that can compete with selected business organization and investigate the
current trends in the selected business area.(LO 2.2)
Critically analyse the impact of them to achieve the objectives of the
selected business organizations. justify its usefulness to make the business
processes easier and effective.( M 1.1)
4. Evaluate the suitability of different information systems for different
functional areas of the selected business organization. (LO 2.3)
Explain the evaluation techniques you have used to evaluate the suitability of the
information systems (M2.2)
5. Select an information system from the selected business organization and critically
analyze how it will be helpful to produce valid, accurate and useful information for the
management decision making process .Justify your finding by providing valid evidences
such as managerial reports produced by the system. (LO 3.1)
6. There are many alternative solutions with pros and cons which can be used to solve
business problems. Identify business problems from your organization and propose
alternative solutions and evaluate them.(LO3.2)
Suggest latest information systems to the selected business organization justify
your decision is right. (D3.1)

7. Provide Standard and appropriate report format with correct use of academically accepted
formatting guidelines(M 3.1)
8. Assignment Gantt chart should be realistic and reflect the
management of the activities. Furthermore, the challenges faced when
trying to achieve the milestone need to be explained. (D2.3)
