Shell and Tube Heat Exchangers

Frames is specialized in engineering and

manufacturing all available TEMA types, either
vertical or horizontal. Frames heat exchangers
have a sharp and creative design, taking into
account requirements for economical use of
available plot space. The robust, reliable and lowmaintenance design of the heat exchangers keeps
your plant in production.
At Frames, we offer mechanical solutions for fouling
applications, and occasionally apply tube inserts to
improve tube-side heat transfer, reduce tube-side
fouling and decrease the size of the heat exchanger.
Our engineers calculate exact sizes and advise
our clients in the selection of materials to ensure

optimal efficiency and lifespan.

Thanks to our global involvement in a wide range of

industries, we have a shell and tube heat exchanger

designed to fit your production process. Frames

Frames Shell and Tube Heat Exchangers are applied in fluid streams

Shell and Tube Heat Exchangers can be supplied as

that require cooling, condensing, heating or evaporation. Our

loose equipment or as skid-mounted units.

proven units reduce energy consumption and operational costs by

efficiently transferring heat from one medium to another.
The shell and tube heat exchangers are designed according TEMA
and API660 (ISO 16812), and are used in different industries
for onshore and offshore applications. The heat exchangers are
fabricated by Frames according to Dutch quality standards, and can
be designed and supplied with an ASME U-stamp certificate.

Product Description
Thanks to years of experience, Frames specialists design and
fabricate shell and tube heat exchangers that provide exceptional
performance across the full range of operating pressures and
temperatures. Frames Shell and Tube Heat Exchangers are used
as efficient, energy-saving components in a variety of onshore and
offshore applications in the oil and gas, refining, chemical and
petrochemical industries. Shell and tube heat exchangers are
without doubt one of the most widely used heat exchangers.

Shell and Tube Heat Exchangers

Process Description
A Frames Shell & Tube Heat Exchanger consists of a bundle of tubes
enclosed by a shell. One fluid flows though the tubes and another
between the shell and the tubes; the thermal energy is conducted
across the tube walls from one fluid to the other.
Baffle plates are placed within the shell to support the tubes, and to
obstruct and redirect the shell-side flow. The baffles force the fluid
around the tube to increase the interaction with the tube wall and
increase the heat transfer coefficient.
