Part 7
We continue with the biggest and most profound impeachment against Christianity!
This is the biggest REVOLUTION of the true followers of Yeshua.
John 8:31-32 KJV Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word,
then are ye my disciples indeed; (32) And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you
free.

How do we test either a prophet or an apostle?

Isaiah 8:20 KJV To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is
because there is no light in them.
Isaiah 8:20 NLTse Look to God's instructions and teachings! People who contradict his word
are completely in the dark.
John 17:17 NLTse Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth.

Yeshua prophesies against the false apostlethat rapacious wolfPaul

Matthew 7:15-23 KJV Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly
they are ravening wolves. (16) Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of
thistles? (17) Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. (18)
A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. (19) Every tree that
bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. (20) Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know
them. (21) Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that
doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. (22) Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not
prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many
wonderful works? (23) And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that
work iniquity.
Matthew 7:23 NLTse But I will reply, 'I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God's
laws.'

Those who violate and teach not the Law of God are false prophets => ravening wolves
Jeremiah 23:19-32 NLTse Look! The LORD's anger bursts out like a storm, a whirlwind that swirls down
on the heads of the wicked. (20) The anger of the LORD will not diminish until it has finished all he has
planned. In the days to come you will understand all this very clearly. (21) "I have not sent these prophets, yet
they run around claiming to speak for me. I have given them no message, yet they go on prophesying. (22) If

they had stood before me and listened to me, they would have spoken my words, and they would have turned
my people from their evil ways and deeds. (23) Am I a God who is only close at hand?" says the LORD. "No, I
am far away at the same time. (24) Can anyone hide from me in a secret place? Am I not everywhere in all the
heavens and earth?" says the LORD. (25) "I have heard these prophets say, 'Listen to the dream I had from
God last night.' And then they proceed to tell lies in my name. (26) How long will this go on? If they are
prophets, they are prophets of deceit, inventing everything they say. (27) By telling these false dreams, they
are trying to get my people to forget me, just as their ancestors did by worshiping the idols of Baal. (28) "Let
these false prophets tell their dreams, but let my true messengers faithfully proclaim my every word. There is a
difference between straw and grain! (29) Does not my word burn like fire?" says the LORD. "Is it not like a
mighty hammer that smashes a rock to pieces? (30) "Therefore," says the LORD, "I am against these prophets
who steal messages from each other and claim they are from me. (31) I am against these smooth-tongued
prophets who say, 'This prophecy is from the LORD!' (32) I am against these false prophets. Their imaginary
dreams are flagrant lies that lead my people into sin. I did not send or appoint them, and they have no message
at all for my people. I, the LORD have spoken!

Message unto Ephasus: a message specifically directed to Paul

Revelation 2:1-7 KJV Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the
seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks; (2) I know thy works,
and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried
them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars: (3) And hast borne, and
hast patience, and for my name's sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted. (4) Nevertheless I have somewhat
against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. (5) Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and
repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick
out of his place, except thou repent. (6) But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the
Nicolaitans, which I also hate. (7) He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the
churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the
paradise of God.
Time to listen to this hymn with the same words of Yeshua denouncing this lying apostle by
Amanda Barreto
Nicolaitan comes from the Greek NKOS which means dominion, conquer or victory; and LAS which
means people, common folk, multitude or layman.
So then the compositions of NKOS-LAS means => CONQUER over the PEOPLE or PEOPLES.

What is the nicolaitan messagethe foundation of the doctrinewhich

has conquered the world? That of Pauls.
What apostle has placed that foundation? Paul.
1 Corinthians 3:10-11 KJV According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise
masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed
how he buildeth thereupon. (11) For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is
Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 9:2 KJV If I be not an apostle unto others, yet doubtless I am to you: for the seal of
mine apostleship are ye [Christians] in the Lord.

NIKOS-LAOS is the message of the apostle Paul of Tarsus which conquered

the world over!! His seal are all Christians!!

=> Galatians

3:1-5 KJV O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth,
before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? (2) This only would I learn
of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? (3) Are ye so
foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? (4) Have ye suffered so many things
in vain? If it be yet in vain. (5) He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among
you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
Galatians 3:1-5 NLTse Oh, foolish Galatians! Who has cast an evil spell on you? For the meaning of Jesus
Christ's death was made as clear to you as if you had seen a picture of his death on the cross. (2) Let me ask
you this one question: Did you receive the Holy Spirit by obeying the Law of Moses? Of course
not! You received the Spirit because you believed the message you heard about Christ. (3) How
foolish can you be? After starting your Christian lives in the Spirit, why are you now trying to become perfect by
your own human effort? (4) Have you experienced so much for nothing? Surely it was not in vain, was it? (5)
I ask you again, does God give you the Holy Spirit and work miracles among you because you obey the law? Of
course not! It is because you believe the message you heard about Christ.

=> Galatians

3:6-9 KJV Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.
(7) Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. (8) And the
scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto
Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. (9) So then they which be of faith are blessed with
faithful Abraham.
Galatians 3:6-9 NLTse In the same way, "Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous
because of his faith." (7) The real children of Abraham, then, are those who put their faith in God. (8) What's
more, the Scriptures looked forward to this time when God would declare the Gentiles to be righteous because
of their faith. God proclaimed this good news to Abraham long ago when he said, "All nations will be blessed
through you." (9) So all who put their faith in Christ share the same blessing Abraham received because of his
faith.

=> Galatians

3:10 KJV For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written,
Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
Galatians 3:10 NLTse But those who depend on the law to make them right with God are under his curse,
for the Scriptures say, "Cursed is everyone who does not observe and obey all the commands that are written in
God's Book of the Law."
Deuteronomy 27:1-26 NLTse Then Moses and the leaders of Israel gave this charge to the people: "Obey all
these commands that I am giving you today. (2) When you cross the Jordan River and enter the land the
LORD your God is giving you, set up some large stones and coat them with plaster. (3) Write this whole body
of instruction on them when you cross the river to enter the land the LORD your God is giving you--a land
flowing with milk and honey, just as the LORD, the God of your ancestors, promised you. (4) When you cross
the Jordan, set up these stones at Mount Ebal and coat them with plaster, as I am commanding you today. (5)
"Then build an altar there to the LORD your God, using natural, uncut stones. You must not shape the stones
with an iron tool. (6) Build the altar of uncut stones, and use it to offer burnt offerings to the LORD your God.

www.laverdadeterna.com 2013
(7) Also sacrifice peace offerings on it, and celebrate by feasting there before the LORD your God. (8) You
must clearly write all these instructions on the stones coated with plaster." (9) Then Moses and the Levitical
priests addressed all Israel as follows: "O Israel, be quiet and listen! Today you have become the
people of the LORD your God. (10) So you must obey the LORD your God by keeping all these
commands and decrees that I am giving you today." (11) That same day Moses also gave this charge to
the people: (12) "When you cross the Jordan River, the tribes of Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph, and
Benjamin must stand on Mount Gerizim to proclaim a blessing over the people. (13) And the tribes of Reuben,
Gad, Asher, Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali must stand on Mount Ebal to proclaim a curse. (14) "Then the Levites
will shout to all the people of Israel: (15) 'Cursed is anyone who carves or casts an idol and secretly sets it up.
These idols, the work of craftsmen, are detestable to the LORD.' And all the people will reply, 'Amen.' (16)
'Cursed is anyone who dishonors father or mother.' And all the people will reply, 'Amen.' (17) 'Cursed is
anyone who steals property from a neighbor by moving a boundary marker.' And all the people will reply,
'Amen.' (18) 'Cursed is anyone who leads a blind person astray on the road.' And all the people will reply,
'Amen.' (19) 'Cursed is anyone who denies justice to foreigners, orphans, or widows.' And all the people will
reply, 'Amen.' (20) 'Cursed is anyone who has sexual intercourse with one of his father's wives, for he has
violated his father.' And all the people will reply, 'Amen.' (21) 'Cursed is anyone who has sexual intercourse
with an animal.' And all the people will reply, 'Amen.' (22) 'Cursed is anyone who has sexual intercourse with
his sister, whether she is the daughter of his father or his mother.' And all the people will reply, 'Amen.' (23)
'Cursed is anyone who has sexual intercourse with his mother-in-law.' And all the people will reply, 'Amen.'
(24) 'Cursed is anyone who attacks a neighbor in secret.' And all the people will reply, 'Amen.' (25) 'Cursed is
anyone who accepts payment to kill an innocent person.' And all the people will reply, 'Amen.' (26) 'Cursed
is anyone who does not affirm and obey the terms of these instructions.' And all the people will
reply, 'Amen.'
Deuteronomy 27:26 Jnemann (spanish original followed by english translation): Maldito todo
hombre que no permaneciere en todas las palabras de esta ley(d) para hacerlas; y dir, todo el
pueblo: Amn. => Cursed is the man who remaineth not in all the words of this law to obey
them; and all the people shall say: Amen.
Deuteronomy 27:26 YLT `Cursed is he who doth not establish the words of this law, to do them,
--and all the people have said, Amen.
Martin Luther's Commentary on Galatians 3:10 (from Sp. translation Comentarios de Martn
Lutero - Glatas by Erich Sexauer p. 139 - 141)
What then shall we say? Are they not blessed who dont do the works of the law, even according to the teaching
of such eminent an apostle? But there you have Moses who declares accursed all who do them not! Therefore,
the only alternative, as weve already stated, is that those who have no faith would be able to do works which
are in accordance to the law, but in doing so, they do not comply with the law; for these works of the law are
faked, as the apostle Paul himself affirms later on in chapter 6 (v. 13): For neither they themselves who are
circumcised keep the law; and in chapter 5 (v. 3): For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is
a debtor to do the whole law. So you see, he who gets circumcised does not comply with one iota of the whole
law; therefore, he also does not comply if he does any other work of the law. The result is that with that word
(Dt. 27:26), Moses has put all men under a curse; and by saying: Cursed be anyone, etc., he meant nothing
else other than: No man can do what is written; this is why they will all be cursed, and they shall all need
Christ as their Redeemer. According to what the apostle says, and according to truth itself, there cannot be,
therefore, any doubt whatsoever: those who do the works of the law, do not, as a result thereof, comply with the
law; doing them they do them not, just as Christ spoke of men that hearing they hear not and seeing they see
not (Mt. 13:13). They believe to be keeping the law and doing its works, but they are actually faking, since
without divine grace they are unable to purify their heart and body. For this reason it is necessary for that
which unto them that are defiled nothing is pure be produced (Titus 1:15). I believe that at this point in the
argument our passage has already pretty much demolished those good neutralists which tried to present
certain works as neutral and as good as in respects to the moral aspect. Here the apostle curses the works of
the lawlet it be understood: of the law of God!that were doubtlessly better than those dictated by natural
reason; and its precisely those good works that will lull to a slumber those who are already sleepy into a false
security. Yet they say that the apostle is talking about ceremonial laws which now lead unto death. But they are

www.laverdadeterna.com 2013
so wrong: the ceremonial laws are not, nor have ever been objectionable; whats objectionable is to place ones
trust in them, as taught by St. Augustin. That the apostle is talking about all laws has been made evident as well
as by the fact that by quoting the words of Moses the words of this law (Dt. 27:26) he adds an anyone and
an all (despite Jeromes objections). But the clearest proof is found in the statement made a bit afterward (v.
13), that Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law. Yet the gentiles were never under the curse of the
ceremonial law. Thus, all the redeemed have been under the curse of the law. For just as Ive already mentioned
before: Very little would Christ have gained by simply liberating us from circumcision, from the sabbatical
feasts, from matters of dress disposition, meats and ablutions, and yet not from the graver sins penalized by
law, such as lust, covetousness, rage, impiousness. Then He would really not have been a Savior of souls, but of
bodies; for all which is concerning the ceremonial law had to do with the body. Therefore, the work of any law,
all be it ceremonial or whichever other, is actually a sinful work and subject to a curse if done without faith,
that is, without pureness of the heart, without innocence, without righteousness.

3:11 KJV But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, the
just shall live by faith.
Galatians 3:11 NLTse So it is clear that no one can be made right with God by trying to keep the law. For
the Scriptures say, "It is through faith that a righteous person has life."
Romans 1:17 KJV For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The
just shall live by faith.
Hebrews 10:38 KJV Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no
pleasure in him.

Faith => G4102 pistis pis'-tis From G3982; persuasion, that is, credence; moral conviction (of
religious truth, or the truthfulness of God or a religious teacher), especially reliance upon Christ for salvation;
abstractly constancy in such profession; by extension the system of religious (Gospel) truth itself: - assurance,
belief, believe, faith, fidelity, [faithful, grace (from Spanish Strongs Dictionary)].
Matthew 8:10 KJV When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you,
I have not found so great faith [pistis], no, not in Israel.
Matthew 9:22 KJV But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good
comfort; thy faith [pistis] hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.
Luke 18:7-8 KJV And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear
long with them? (8) I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh,
shall he find faith [pistis] on the earth?
Romans 3:3 KJV For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith [pistis] of God
without effect?

Little faith =>

oligopistos ol-ig-op'-is-tos

From G3641 and G4102; incredulous, that is, lacking confidence (in Christ): - of little faith.
Matthew 8:26 KJV And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith [oligopistos]? Then he
arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.
Matthew 14:31 KJV And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O
thou of little faith [oligopistos], wherefore didst thou doubt?

Faithful => G4103

pistos pis-tos' From G3982; objectively trustworthy; subjectively trustful: believe (-ing, -r), faithful (-ly), sure, true [truth (from Spanish Strongs Dictionary)].
Matthew 24:45 KJV Who then is a faithful [pistos] and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over
his household, to give them meat in due season?
Revelation 2:10 KJV Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of
you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful [pistos] unto
death, and I will give thee a crown of life.
Revelation 17:14 KJV These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is
Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful [pistos].

Pure => G4101

pistikos pis-tik-os' From G4102; [reliable (Sp. Strongs)], trustworthy,

that is, genuine (unadulterated): - spike-[nard], [pure (Sp. Strongs)].
John 12:3 ESV-r Mary therefore took a pound of expensive ointment made from pure [pistikos] nard, and
anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped his feet with her hair. The house was filled with the fragrance of the
perfume.

To believe => G4100

pisteuo pist-yoo'-o From G4102; to have faith (in, upon, or with

respect to, a person or thing), that is, credit; by implication to entrust (especially ones spiritual well being to
Christ): - believe (-r), commit (to trust), put in trust with, [keep, trust, to believe, believer (Sp.
Strongs)].
Matthew 9:28 KJV And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto
them, Believe [pisteuo] ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord.
John 6:69 KJV And we believe [pisteuo] and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.
John 8:24 KJV I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe [pisteuo] not that I
am he, ye shall die in your sins.
John 10:24-30 KJV Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us
to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly. (25) Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed
[pisteuo] not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me. (26) But ye believe
[pisteuo] not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. (27) My sheep hear my voice, and I
know them, and they follow me: (28) And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither
shall any man pluck them out of my hand. (29) My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no
man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. (30) I and my Father are one.
John 11:25 KJV Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth [pisteuo] in me,
though he were dead, yet shall he live:

www.laverdadeterna.com 2013
Here we have both pistis and pisteuo; lets look at the relation between the two.
Hebrews 4:2-3 KJV For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did
not profit them, not being mixed with faith [pistis] in them that heard it. (3) For we which have believed
[pisteuo] do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although
the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
Theres truth to what Paul says here Its implied in the Scriptures
Romans 10:14-17 KJV How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed [pisteuo]? and
how shall they believe [pisteuo] in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a
preacher? (15) And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of
them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! (16) But they have not all obeyed
the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed [pisteuo] our report? (17) So then faith [pistis]
cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Mark 4:9-12 KJV And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. (10) And when he was
alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable. (11) And he said unto them, Unto
you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are
done in parables: (12) That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not
understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.

LORD, are not thine eyes upon the truth [emuna]? thou hast stricken them, but they have not grieved; thou
hast consumed them, but they have refused to receive correction: they have made their faces harder than a
rock; they have refused to return. (4) Therefore I said, Surely these are poor; they are foolish: for they know
not the way of the LORD, nor the judgment of their God.

The just shall live by The Eternal Truth!

The just shall live by emuna => First, you have to become just!
Just => H6662 tsaddic From H6663; just: - just, lawful, righteous (man), [upright, straight
(Sp. Strongs)].

How do we get to be just? The order of events may vary:

1- By the grace and forgiveness of Yeshua.
2- By hearing the Eternal Truth.
3- Believing the message.
4- By learning the law of God and obeying it.
5- Knowledge, repentance and abandoning sin.
6- Faithfulness => Keeping true to the true message => EMUNA.

Ezekiel 18:1-32 NLTse Then another message came to me from the LORD: (2) "Why do you quote
this proverb concerning the land of Israel: 'The parents have eaten sour grapes, but their children's mouths
pucker at the taste'? (3) As surely as I live, says the Sovereign LORD, you will not quote this proverb anymore
in Israel. (4) For all people are mine to judge--both parents and children alike. And this is my rule: The person
who sins is the one who will die. (5) "Suppose a certain man is righteous and does what is just and right. (6)
He does not feast in the mountains before Israel's idols or worship them. He does not commit adultery or have
intercourse with a woman during her menstrual period. (7) He is a merciful creditor, not keeping the items
given as security by poor debtors. He does not rob the poor but instead gives food to the hungry and provides
clothes for the needy. (8) He grants loans without interest, stays away from injustice, is honest and fair when

just and will surely live, says the Sovereign LORD. (10) "But suppose that man has a son who grows

father would never do--he worships idols on the mountains, commits adultery, (12) oppresses the poor and
helpless, steals from debtors by refusing to let them redeem their security, worships idols, commits detestable
sins, (13) and lends money at excessive interest. Should such a sinful person live? No! He must die and must
take full blame. (14) "But suppose that sinful son, in turn, has a son who sees his father's wickedness and

for the child's sins. Righteous people will be rewarded for their own righteous behavior, and

to turn from their sins. Such people will not die. (29) And yet the people of Israel keep saying, 'The

Martin Luther's Commentary on Galatians 3:12 (from Sp. translation Comentarios de Martn

This is the Leviticus 18 (v. 5) statement also quoted by Paul in Romans 10 (v. 5). What the apostles trying to
say is: The Law confers not life nor righteousness before God. Yet he that doeth the things which the law
demands shall live by them as a man, that is to say, he shall escape the punishment of the law and acquire the
reward of the law; however, he shall not live in God even as a son of Abraham. Therefore you should carefully
examine the meaning of these words: He that doeth the works of the law shall live by them as a man; however,
before God he is dead. As a man, I say, not as a just person; and by those works, his works, he shall live, that is,
he shall protect his life in order to not be killed by the judgment of the law. However, he shall not live by those
works as a just man; as the just shall live by faith. Remember, therefore, that in this text the apostle taught you
that the works of the law are works by which we appear as just before human eyes and as doers of the law, but
within we are anything but just, for we are lacking faith; thusly, by means of the law, you cannot but amount to
be a hypocrite and an outwardly beautiful sepulcher which, from within, is filled with filth (Mt. 23:27).

Martin Luther's Commentary on Galatians 3:14 (from Sp. translation Comentarios de Martn
Lutero - Glatas by Erich Sexauer p. 151)
In his ardor, the apostle employs a language so obscure and intricate. The testament of God, he says, Which
has been ratified with reference to Christ, should not be abrogated by the law and by a works-of-the-law-based
righteousness. However, the testament would be abrogated, and the promise completely invalidated if the
works of the law were necessary, as if the grace of the promise were insufficient or impotent in making our
righteousness effective. By adding the law, which came four hundred and thirty years later, Paul does it with
the evident purpose of minimizing the law, as if to say: If the promise had been given post-law wise, then the
impression that that promise was a well-deserved reward to the righteousness of the law could have been
created. Now though, so little does the yielding of grace and righteousness has to do with the works of the law,

12

www.laverdadeterna.com 2013
that it had already been promised years before the law existed; above all, way before a law based righteousness
even existed. No one merited this grace and this righteousness; no one sought for it; the sole mercy of God was
what promised such things, freely. Why then would the law invalidate the promise of grace and its yielding
thereof in present times, since the law brought not a single contribution neither to the promise nor to the
yielding thereof? And in Romans 3 (v. 21) the apostle declares: Apart from the law, the righteousness of God
has been made manifest; moreover, the law has counteracted for it worketh wrath, Romans 4 (v. 15) and
multiplies transgression. This is why, far from relying on the law or in our works, righteousness must rely
solely in the invariable and faithful promise of God, who never lies, not even when we, through the offices of
the law, become worse sinners still and even more unworthy.

=> Galatians

3:18-20 KJV For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to
Abraham by promise. (19) Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the
seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.
(20) Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one.
Galatians 3:18-20 NLTse For if the inheritance could be received by keeping the law, then it would not be
the result of accepting God's promise. But God graciously gave it to Abraham as a promise. (19) Why, then,
was the law given? It was given alongside the promise to show people their sins. But the law was designed to
last only until the coming of the child who was promised. God gave his law through angels to Moses, who was
the mediator between God and the people. (20) Now a mediator is helpful if more than one party must reach
an agreement. But God, who is one, did not use a mediator when he gave his promise to Abraham.
Galatians 3:16-20 CEV That is how it is with the promises God made to Abraham and his descendant. The
promises were not made to many descendants, but only to one, and that one is Christ. (17) What I am saying is
that the Law cannot change or cancel God's promise that was made 430 years before the Law was given. (18)
If we have to obey the Law in order to receive God's blessings, those blessings don't really come to us because of
God's promise. But God was kind to Abraham and made him a promise. (19) What is the use of the Law? It
was given later to show that we sin. But it was only supposed to last until the coming of that descendant who
was given the promise. In fact, angels gave the Law to Moses, and he gave it to the people. (20) There is only
one God, and the Law did not come directly from him.

Martin Luther's Commentary on Galatians 3:16-20 (from Sp. translation Comentarios de
Martn Lutero - Glatas by Erich Sexauer p. 154-156)
What then is the law good for? Paul knows very well that his assertion, irrefutably corroborated with strong
arguments, that righteousness is not obtained by the law, can raise the entirely justifiable objection: What
function then is that of the laws? Is it not that the whole law was given in order to precisely promote justice as
well as good morals? Furthermore, it is evident that Paul refers to the whole law, even the 10 Commandments,
in the most general of ways in chapters 4 and 5 of Romans. But the apostle already has the answer: V. 19: It was
added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained
by angels in the hand of a mediator. V. 20: Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one. Who would
have ever even expected such an answer, one that contradicts, by the way, all those who usually speak so wisely
of how resourceful the laws are? Paul states that the law was given or added or annexed in order for
transgressions to abound in the same sense as in Romans 5 (v. 20) where the apostle declares: The law

13

www.laverdadeterna.com 2013
entered, that the offence might abound. St. Jerome, on the other hand, gives this passage a negative tense: for
him, the law was given to serve as a restrain for the transgressions. However, there are diverse facts which
oppose this interpretation: Firstly: In such a case, it should have been said instead: The law was added so as to
man would acquire righteousness; for the law is given so that it may be carried out. Secondly: This way of
expressing himself is very common in Pauls writings: The strength of sin is the law (I Co. 15:56), and sin
takes occasion by the commandment (Ro. 7:8, 11), and it is unto death (Ro. 7:10; 8:2), and it worketh
wrath (Ro. 4:15). In fact, in Romans 4 (v. 15) the apostle writes that the law worketh wrath; for where no law
is, there is no transgression. In the same way can one say that where there is no transgression, there is also no
remission; and where no remission, no salvation just as well. Consequently, just as remission exists because of
salvation, and transgression because of remission, so also does the law because of transgression. The law brings
forth sin; sin, remission; and remission, salvation. And all this because without the law, sin remains dead and
is not recognized according to Romans chapters 5 and 7. Sin was in the world, but it was not imputed unto
man, until the coming of Moses and his law. The sense of it all is then: The law was given because of the
transgression, in order for the transgression to exist as such and abound, and so that, from this fate, man,
having been brought to the knowledge of himself through the law, may seek unto himself the hand of the
merciful God; for without the law, man is ignorant about his sin and believes himself sound. Thirdly: Neither is
the following phrase: until the seed were to come in consistency with Jeromes opinion; for its quite absurd
that transgression had to be restrained until the coming of Christ, as if from that point on it were not necessary
to be restrained. What the apostle meant was all the contrary, i. e.: by means of the law, not only was sin not
restrained, but actually increased, until Christ came and put an end to the law by fulfilling it and bringing grace
unto the world, as said by Gabriel in chapter 9 (v. 24) of the book of Daniel: to make an end of sins, and to
bring everlasting righteousness, which is to say: Sin had its origin in Adam, it grew even greater because of
the law, and will get to its final point by the work of Christ alone, who, once sin is dead, brings everlasting
righteousness, just as we read in Psalm 110 (111:3) and 111 (112:3): his righteousness endureth for ever.
Fourthly: Jeromes interpretation also does not coincide with Pauls question: Is the law then against the
promises of God? (3:21). Such an objection would not have been made if the apostle would have meant for his
words to be understood in the sense that the law was given to restrain transgression; for, in such a case, the law
would not be against the promises but in favor thereof. Yet now, being that the law increases sin and brings
forth wrath, it is evident that it does not push God to fulfill his promises, but in the contrary, it makes him
wroth and works as an impediment. Having thus understood Pauls thought, the context forms an astonishing
coherence; otherwise, youd have to make up so many opinions as well as sentences in this passage. Fifthly: The
words in the hand of a mediator Paul writes them, in my judgment, in order to highlight that the law was not
placed in our hand so as to have us fulfill it, but in the hand of the Christ who was to come and fulfill it. This is
why the law was placed, not so that it may carry out righteousness, but actually so that it my accuse sinners and
require the hand of a mediator. For it was necessary to put an end to mans haughtiness in order to impede that
he might come to believe that the Son of God became flesh by merits of himselfman, and thus make himself
unworthy of so great a mercy. But now, having had fallen into demerit because of the law, we love that God
whose faithfulness and mercy we continually come to know better in the measure that we more perfectly see
how unworthy are we whom he showed so great a love. For the profit which we gain by means of the law is only
that we come to knowledge; to comply with it and to do its worksthis, only Christuntil the seed is come to
whom the promise was made: that is, in the seed would the blessing be bestowed, righteousness and the
fulfilling of the law; and the transgressions which existed by means of the law, no longer had to be restrained
but actually extinguishedwhich is done by faith in Christ.
Martin Luther's Commentary on Galatians (from Sp. translation Comentarios de Martn Lutero
- Glatas by Erich Sexauer p. 158 footnote)
Instead of this text, the following is found in the 1523 revised edition: In hand of a mediator: this refers to
Moses, who, as a mediator between God and the people, received the law from the hand of angels and
transmitted it to the people; thusly, Moses is a minister of sin and mediator of death. Yet Christ is the mediator
of a better testament, according to the letter unto the Hebrews (8:6). From this does Paul infer that it was so
impossible for the people of Israel to become righteous via the law that they were not able tolerate or even hear
it, but they received Moses as mediator, which would not have been necessary if they themselves would have
been able to hear the law. How then could they comply with it or be made righteous through it?

3:22 KJV But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus

Galatians 3:22 NLTse But the Scriptures declare that we are all prisoners of sin, so we receive God's

Martin Luther's Commentary on Galatians 3:21-22 (from Sp. translation Comentarios de
Martn Lutero - Glatas by Erich Sexauer p. 159)
This means that: the law is not contrary unto the promises, since it has been given to cause death and to
increase sin, that is to say, that through the law man may see how imperiously necessary is the grace of the
promise unto him, since due to the effects of the good, just and holy law (Ro. 7:12), he worsens day by day.
Thus man is not to make use of the law as a support by which to attain a state of security trusting in his works
done according to the law, but actually, induced by it, shall seek something very different and much better, that
is to say, the promise. For if the law were able to concede life we would be just. But now the law actually kills,
and makes sinners be even more sinful. And by doing so, it precisely acts in favor of the promise, since it
compels to desire it with so much more yearning and radically destroys any and all righteousness based on
works.

Martin Luther's Commentary on Galatians 3:21-22 (from Sp. translation Comentarios de

Martn Lutero - Glatas by Erich Sexauer p. 160-161)
With this statement the apostle replies to both issues at once: that the law was given with the purpose of
increasing transgression, and that, in spite of the increasing of the transgressions, the law is not contrary to the
promises of God. All, he says, have been made prisoners of sin by the Scripture; that is to say: by means of
the law and the letter God made evident that we were sinners, incapable of living in true righteousness or of
complying with the law. Once sin was so made manifest through the law, and mans inability to comply with it
has been clearly demonstrated, Gods will was to urge humble trembling men, desperate of their own strength,
to find refuge in Gods free mercy offered in Christ. And thus the promise made to Abraham had to be given
as the apostle expresses himself about itI repeat: given, not paid!but given unto people who are completely
unworthy of it, and that, according to the law, would have merited all the contrary. Which goes to say: based on
the faith in Christ, the grace and the blessing of justification should be given to all who believe in Him. The
same is affirmed in Romans 11 (v. 32): For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy
upon all. Also that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God since by
the deeds of the law shall no flesh be justified in his sight: (Ro. 3:19, 20). How is it that he concluded them?
By the Scripture, by means of the law, through the letter. An identical thought had been joyously expressed by
Paul already (chapter 3:10) very energetically when he quoted, in regards to the works of the law, that which
was written by Moses (in Dt. 27:26): Cursed be anyone who does not confirm the words of this law by doing
them. Etc.
Martin Luther's Commentary on Galatians 3:21-22 (from Sp. translation Comentarios de
Martn Lutero - Glatas by Erich Sexauer p. 162)
Thus, the law has been given in order for sin to increase. But it is not just the increasing of sin which is sought,
but also that proud man become aware of this growing of sin, be left terrified by the requirements of the law,
and, compelled by his own despair, become thirsty of mercy. So it is expressed by Psalm 41 (42:1): As a deer
pants for flowing streams, so pants my soul for you, O God. And a little further: (v. 3): My tears have been my
food day and night, while they say to me continually, "Where is your God?" Hence all the clamor, wailing and
yearning of the fathers and patriarchs, the anxious expectation of Christ and the so violent a dispute about the
burden of the law. The law, therefore, is good, just and holy (Ro. 7:12), but it justifies no one. By making my
reaction before her (the law) apparent, it shows me who I am: I feel irritated because of her (the law) and I hate
justice more than before, and I actually feel more affection for lust than before; only the fear of the threats of
the law is what holds me back from a bad deed, but never from a bad desire. I could illustrate this with a
comparison. Water is good; but when it is poured over lime it makes it ignite. Is it the waters fault that lime
ignites? No; water simply revealed that apparently cold lime what it had within. Thus the law excites and
makes manifest the evil desires and feelings of hate, but cures them not. On the other hand, if you were to pour

15

www.laverdadeterna.com 2013
oil over that lime, it does not heat up, but the hidden heat within is extinguished. In the same manner, grace,
poured into our hearts by means of the Spirit, extinguishes hate and lust.

into Christ have put on Christ. (28) There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is
neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. (29) And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's
seed, and heirs according to the promise.
Galatians 3:23-29 NLTse Before the way of faith in Christ was available to us, we were placed under guard
by the law. We were kept in protective custody, so to speak, until the way of faith was revealed. (24) Let me
put it another way. The law was our guardian until Christ came; it protected us until we could be made right
with God through faith. (25) And now that the way of faith has come, we no longer need the law as our
guardian. (26) For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus. (27) And all who have been
united with Christ in baptism have put on the character of Christ, like putting on new clothes. (28) There is no
longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus. (29) And now that
you belong to Christ, you are the true children of Abraham. You are his heirs, and God's promise to Abraham
belongs to you.
Galatians 3:23-29 CEV The Law controlled us and kept us under its power until the time came when we
would have faith. (24) In fact, the Law was our teacher. It was supposed to teach us until we had faith and
were acceptable to God. (25) But once a person has learned to have faith, there is no more need to have the
Law as a teacher. (26) All of you are God's children because of your faith in Christ Jesus. (27) And when you
were baptized, it was as though you had put on Christ in the same way you put on new clothes. (28) Faith in
Christ Jesus is what makes each of you equal with each other, whether you are a Jew or a Greek, a slave or a
free person, a man or a woman. (29) So if you belong to Christ, you are now part of Abraham's family, and you
will be given what God has promised.
Jacob (James) 2:14-26 NLTse What good is it, dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but don't
show it by your actions? Can that kind of faith save anyone? (15) Suppose you see a brother or sister who has
no food or clothing, (16) and you say, "Good-bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well"--but then you
don't give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do? (17) So you see, faith by itself isn't
enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless. (18) Now someone may argue, "Some people
have faith; others have good deeds." But I say, "How can you show me your faith if you don't have good deeds?
I will show you my faith by my good deeds." (19) You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God.
Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror. (20) How foolish! Can't you see that
faith without good deeds is useless? (21) Don't you remember that our ancestor Abraham was shown to be
right with God by his actions when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? (22) You see, his faith and his actions
worked together. His actions made his faith complete. (23) And so it happened just as the Scriptures say:
"Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith." He was even called the friend
of God. (24) So you see, we are shown to be right with God by what we do, not by faith alone. (25) Rahab the
prostitute is another example. She was shown to be right with God by her actions when she hid those
messengers and sent them safely away by a different road. (26) Just as the body is dead without breath,
so also faith is dead without good works.
Matthew 21:28-32 KJV But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said,
Son, go work today in my vineyard. (29) He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and
went. (30) And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not.
(31) Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them,
Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you. (32) For John
came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed
him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.

Psalms 119:1-12 NLTse Joyful are people of integrity, who follow the instructions of the LORD. (2) Joyful
are those who obey his laws and search for him with all their hearts. (3) They do not compromise with evil,
and they walk only in his paths. (4) You have charged us to keep your commandments carefully. (5) Oh, that
my actions would consistently reflect your decrees! (6) Then I will not be ashamed when I compare my life
with your commands. (7) As I learn your righteous regulations, I will thank you by living as I should! (8) I
will obey your decrees. Please don't give up on me! (9) How can a young person stay pure? By obeying your
word. (10) I have tried hard to find you-- don't let me wander from your commands. (11) I have hidden your
word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. (12) I praise you, O LORD; teach me your decrees.
Hebrews 10:37-39 NLTse "For in just a little while, the Coming One will come and not delay. (38) And my
righteous ones will live by faith. But I will take no pleasure in anyone who turns away." (39) But we are not
like those who turn away from God to their own destruction. We are the faithful ones, whose souls will be
saved.
Hebrews 10:37-39 Spanish BLS Pues Dios dice en la Biblia: Muy pronto llegar el que tiene que venir. Ya
no tarda!
Translation: For God says in his Bible: A little while and the one who had to come will come. He wont take
long! (38) Those which are faithful unto me in all things and trust in me shall live forever. But if they
stop being faithful unto me I will not find delight in them. (39) Thank God we are not of those who stop
being faithful and end up being punished, but we are of those who receive salvation by trusting in God.
John 3:16-21 KJV For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth
[pisteuo] in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (17) For God sent not his Son into the world to
condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. (18) He that believeth [pisteuo] on
him is not condemned: but he that believeth [pisteuo] not is condemned already, because he hath not
believed [pisteuo] in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (19) And this is the condemnation, that
light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. (20)
For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
(21) But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are
wrought in God.
