Integration, Cooperation & Extension

(leads to agribusiness for better future)

Agriculture sector is one of the pillars of Indian economy. About 43% of Indias geographical
area is used for agricultural activity and the sector accounts for 8.56% of Indias exports. The
livestock and fisheries sector contributed over 4.07 % of total GDP during 2008-2009.
Agriculture & Allied sectors which used to contribute 19 per cent of GDP in 2004-05 has come
down to 14 per cent in 2011-12 at 2004-05 prices. Agriculture and allied sectors such as forestry,
logging and fishing accounted for 18.6% of the GDP in 2005 and employed 60% of the countrys
population. But still We are As Per the 2010 FAO world agriculture statistics, India is the world's
largest producer of many fresh fruits and vegetables, milk, major spices, select fresh meats,
select fibrous crops such as jute, several staples such as millets and castor oil seed. India is the
second largest producer of wheat and rice, the world's major food staples. India is also the
world's second or third largest producer of several fruits, agriculture based textile raw materials,
roots and tuber crops, pulses, farmed fish, eggs, coconut, sugarcane and numerous vegetables.
India ranked within the world's five largest producers of over 80% of agricultural produce items,
including many cash crops such as coffee and cotton, in 2010. India is also ranked 1st in milk
production & one of the world's five largest producers of livestock and poultry meat, with one of
the fastest growth rates, as of 2011.
Hence, there is lots of area which still required to improve and that can be achieved by proper
Integration, Cooperation & Extension.
We have to Integrate of different sector like Animal production, Agriculture, Horticulture,
Fishery with one another. In each sector there is very well hygienic ,climatically proper provided
environment production system, Proper waste management, water management, disease control
& integrate it with one another example like waste of agriculture is feed of animal and waste of
animal bedding material, manure which is fertilizer or nutrient supplement of soil or plant. So,
there is lots of thing which easily integrated with one another, recycling plan and it will all
ultimately lead to increase in income as well as in GDP.
Cooperation is also important which must have to apply for each Agri-base or its allied sector
product otherwise the involvement of middle man which do ultimately rise in price of that
product and lastly end in corruption which is the biggest issue of India thats why India still said
to be a developing country. Cooperative federation or Cooperative society should be formed
from central level to the state, district, taluka and lastly to the village so every person connect to
it and cant be misguide, get his proper value for his product and ultimately it will bypass the
third party to interfere in the sector.
Extension is the most major part which is still to improve by transfer of newer & apply of newer
modernized technology form implantation of a crop to the dispatch of vegetables or fruits , food
processing technique, food preservation, as well as proper guidance to the farmer of different
class. There are many govt. plan/scheme which is encourage the farmers and provide subsidy for
that there should be a co-operative-extension association in each and every district which provide
proper information regarding govt. scheme, provide project file facility and provide complete
guidance that may be a free of cost. So, Extension do main role in the development of farmer as
well as India .
