1) Dear Soylent Supporter,


A lot can happen in a year. Whether you have been following the project from the very beginning
or just recently become intrigued, I would like to thank you for your confidence in what we are
building.
Starting from scratch is never easy, but thanks to my fantastic co-founders and colleagues we
have built the foundations of a strong business. Looking forward, we resolve to release more
new products, expand their reach, and improve the capability and efficiency of our industry
through research and development, toward a future where food is abundant and its production is
transparent. If you would like to help more directly, we are always seeking more bright minds.
I am thrilled that, through the web, I get to hear every day of people who enjoy using Soylent,
and have had the great pleasure of meeting many users in person as well. They seem to share an
optimistic mind. After all, if we can figure out this food problem, what else might we be capable of?

2) Soylent 2.0 Ingredients


We are happy to introduce Soylent 2.0, a ready-to-drink Soylent packaged in 400-calorie, single
serving bottles. This new version is pasteurized and will remain fresh for up to one year, even
without refrigeration. Our glycemic index testing indicated that Soylent 2.0 is designated as low
GI (GI=49). The macronutrient breakdown is 47 percent fats, 33 percent carbohydrates, and
20 percent protein. The vitamins and minerals in this formulation are designed to provide 100
percent daily values over 2000 calories, or 5 bottles.
2a) Algal Oil (High Oleic)
This algal oil is composed of monounsaturated fat, primarily oleic acid.
It acts as a replacement for sunflower oil with minimal taste and less
environmental impact.
2b) Soy Protein Isolate
We have transitioned to soy protein isolate in Soylent 2.0. The benefits
include higher PDCAAS score (improved digestibility and better amino acid
profile), smoother texture, and a level of purity from inorganic compounds
not possible with other plant proteins.
2c) Isomaltooligosaccharide (IMO)
This new ingredient is a soluble, prebiotic fiber composed of short chains
of partially digestible carbohydrates. Isomaltooligosaccharides support
the growth of beneficial gut bacteria and promote a gut environment that
resists colonization by harmful microorganisms. It produces the fewest
gastrointestinal side effects of all common prebiotic fibers.
2d) Oat Fiber
Oat fiber serves as an insoluble fiber with smooth texture and mouthfeel.
2e) Gellan Gum
This is a bacterially derived polysaccharide that produces excellent
suspension of the solids in Soylent 2.0.
