IDAX300 competes directly with Omicron Dirana and for moisture assessment also

with the PDC analyzer Alff PDC-ANALYSER-1MOD. Omicron claims that their ,design
performs much faster moisture measurements than IDAX which is NOT,TRUE at typical
measurement temperatures. Omicron has no high voltage amplifier, no real-time waveform
capture. Alff PDC instrument has longer measurement time, is sensitive for hum and noise
and has a limited frequencyrange. Tettex offer the RVM (Return Voltage Measurement)
product Type 5462. Their unit has been included in numerous comparative studies but has
always come out with bad reviews because of poor accuracy, noise sensitivity and lack of
reliable interpretation SW.
