RELN-1100-14

Mans will is the only friend of Atman, his will is also the Atmans enemy.
I can give high regards towards my favorite quote, because even though its
short, it has a broad spectrum of which it can apply to. When I think of this
quote, I think of in cartoons when a person has to make a decision and the
little angel and devil pop up on their shoulder. Your will can either lead you to
happiness or disappointment. Theres basically a love-hate relationship
between your will and Atman, which is your soul. For example, when I was
writing about myself for a scholarship, I could have wrote lies to make my life
seem like Dakota fannings, but I wrote about who I truly am. Even though I
didnt get the scholarship doing the right thing made me feel at ease.
Without will a person wouldnt have any power over their actions and there
wouldnt be any freewill. In the sense of Hinduism and Christianity, God
would be controlling everything we do. Wed be like pieces in board game, so
that brings up the topic of are people born evil. People are not born evil
because everybody starts out with a good Atman made by God. A persons
choice in his/her will power determine, what path he or she is going to go
down. On Tom and Jerry, when Tom is in the heat of the moment to either
set a booby trap to kill Jerry or let him go free, he chooses to try to kill him.
Then he starts to feel sad and starts crying when he thinks, that hes
succeeded. Ultimately, this shows that even though his choice of will was his
enemy, his Atman isnt all evil.

Vishnu as the Universe page 29 (Bowker)

Vishnu being the monotheism in Hinduism is extremely intriguing, thus
making this my favorite piece of artwork. I see it as all the other Gods being

all different entities of Vishnu, in order to make up the sole power of the
Gods. Its like you get the whole mental picture of Hinduism in one, which he
also embodies heaven and hell. He preserves all Brahmans creations and
goes into combat just to protect the world. I think hes the most significant
God in the trinity and the hardest working because he has to create
incarnations of himself to fight demons since nobody else can. Vishnus
dharma in the trinity could be a video game or TV show, because for each
war or battle he usually transforms into one of his incarnations. For instance
when he turned to Rama and had to save Sita, that whole adventurous sub
story from The Ramayana, I could see as a video game.
Although in the artwork Vishnu is seen as the light, the dark and all
between. He tries to take credit for more than he does. How can Vishnu really
have the Gods forces manifested in him if each God has a specific dharma
they have to fulfill? Vishnu is obviously a needed piece to the trinity but over
the years I think he just became so popular, that people decided to give him
a bigger title.
