Lesson Summary
This lesson is developed to focus on listening and speaking and integrated with speaking and writing
skills. The language content is being emphasized in this lesson is verb. In the set induction, the teacher
will display a picture containing leisure time activities and will ask WH-questions to the students about
what they do during their leisure time. in pre-listening stage, teacher would pastes eight pictures of leisure
time activities on the board and asks the students to paste the descriptions next to the respective
activities. For the while listening stage, teacher would distribute three worksheets and they would have to
answer the questions while listening to the audio recording. In the pre listening stage, students would sit in
a circle and they have to write about what are their leisure time activities and will share it to their friends
during bean bag time. Teacher would revise the leisure time activities mentioned by their friends and talk
about the moral value of the topic.

A conversation between two friends, Sally and Rahman at the schools garden talking about their
hobbies.

Rahman

: Hi Sally, why do you collect many stamps?

Sally

: Ohh. Hi Rahman. I am collecting the stamps for my collection.

Rahman

: What do you mean?

Sally

: Yes, actually my hobby is collecting stamps.

Rahman

: Why do you like collecting stamps?

Sally

: Because I like to see the unique pictures of the stamps. How about you, what is your
hobby?

Rahman

: Hmm I think I dont have hobby. Should we have a hobby?

Sally

: Not really. But in our lives we must have something we like most. Hobby is an activity that
we do regularly in our free time.

Rahman

: So, hobby is a pleasure. Then, I think I have a hobby now.

Sally

: Of course, so what is your hobby?

: I like to read comics especially detective Conan.

Sally

: That is your hobby. Reading comic. Do you have all of detective Conans collection?

Rahman

: Yes, I do. My mother brings me to the book store to buy them. How about your stamps
collection?

Sally

: So far I have collected stamps from some places in our country but I still should find other
stamps and I get it from the post office.

Rahman

: that is interesting. Well, I also like to play badminton in my free time. My father brings me to
the stadium every Sunday evening to play badminton.

Sally
