Helping Your Child Learn
Students were also acknowledged in their classrooms for demonstrat-
ing the character trait “Respect”. Congratulations to all these student
leaders. Over the months of February and March, our academic foci
are Science, Technology and Math and our character trait is
“Responsibility”.

2. Windows are Almost Done!


Over the weekend a crew will put the finishing touches on our screens
for the windows they have installed. It’s great to see this major pro-
ject come to an end. The windows are fabulous! Thanks to everyone
involved in this project.

3. Report Cards
It’s “crunch time” as students submit assignments, write tests and
teachers begin to write report card. We are planning to send home
second term report cards on Wednesday March 31st. At that time,
please review the report with your child and return page three.

If you desire a personal or telephone interview, please contact her


child’s teacher(s).

4. Welcome to….
Heather McNulty who will be joining our Primary team, filling in for
Mrs. Dunford during her maternity leave. She will begin at Dundas
Central in April.

Kindergarten Registration has


begun!
Our schools are exciting, enriching places for young learners as
they explore the world around them, learn to solve problems,
and make new friends. Our Kindergarten programs help
students get off to the best possible start. Your child will be
challenged and encouraged to do his or her very best. Our
caring teachers are with them every step of the way!

Junior Kindergarten for September 2010 is for children born in 2006 and is offered at all

A Message from Our Home and School


**** DUNDAS CENTRAL is PROUD to Celebrate & Support Literacy ****
With Our 6th ANNUAL BOOK SWAP
Friday, March 12th, 2010
Starting Monday March 8th, kindly bring in your ‘gently used’ kids books, magazines and/or
comics and drop them in the designated boxes located outside the school office.
All grades are invited to participate in an exchange on Friday, March 12th commencing after
morning announcements.
(JK’s are welcome to pick out their books Thursday afternoon – March 11th)
Please feel free to bring in as many books as you would like to donate. Students will only be allowed to take home a
maximum of three books, to ensure that all children receive a book.

• DONATE 3 or MORE BOOKS: GET 3 BOOKS !
Any remaining books will be offered to the teachers for their classrooms or local organizations and charities.
This is a fun, money-free opportunity to promote literacy and hopefully refresh your bookshelves !!!

Easter Cake Raffle


There will be an Easter Cake Raffle held on Thursday April 1st during the school day.
Proceeds this year will go towards the Grade 8 Graduation Fund. So dust off your
spatulas and please donate a special cake. More details to come home by backpack
closer to the date.
