PAUL AND DELA BAJKO WILL VISIT

POLAND IN JUNE AND JULY

This year is a great year for the Churches of Christ in Poland.

60 years ago Bro. Jaroshevich returned from USA to Poland as missionary
and
began the New Testament work in Poland.
It was a smallbeginning in 1921 - just in one village where Bro. Jaroshevich
was born, even in the house of his father.

But it started to spread like a fire. People were hungry for the Word of God,
for the truth which they were seeking all their lives.
God*s Word was preached openly, in simplicity, and hundreds of' souls were bap
tized into Christ.

By 1939 the work grew from one church to 80 churches and 120 mission places.

Jfy father and mother accepted Christ in 1922 and immediately joined hands with
Bro. Jaroshevich in winning souls for Christ.

I remember very well the great gatherings, evangelistic meetings and baptis mal services. I saw the people hungering for the Word of God.

Then came the war, destruction, devastation, arrests, concentration and labor
camps - but the Church survived it all.

In 1945 Bro. Jaroshevich returned again to Poland and together with surviving

preachers /Sacewicz, Winnik, Korniluk, Bajenski, Jakoniuk, Lewczuk/ renewed

the work there.

It was almost like starting from the beginning again because only couple chur
ches of Christ remained in the present boundries of Poland.
Meetings were held in damaged sanctuaries or private homes - but there were
no Bibles, song books or any other literature.
In 1950 I landed in America and entered Eastern Christian Institute and later

Milligan College. After my graduation I was called back to Eastern Christian

Institute to teach and organize the Department of Missions in 195A.
-

1 -

The greatest emphasis in the Department

Missions was laid on Polish Minis

try.

Together with
wife, Dela, we istarted to translate songs and publish song
books. Life of Christ, visualized and Book of Acts.
In 1960 we started publishing a Polish monthly magazine and other Christian
literature; we purchased thousands od Bibles and New Testaments. All that v/as
sent

to Poland.

Then we started to support stmgglir>g churches in Poland - helped them to pur

chase houses of worship, to repair damaged sanctuaries; sent organs and other
musical instruments, we got involved in building Christian Service Camp, and
started to beam the Gospel of Christ through Monte Carlo radio directly into
Poland.

From time to time we made personal visits there.

The work began to grow again and now we have in Poland over 20 congregations

and several mission places. All churches[have their own buildings and every

preacher is supported by the Department of Missions.

Now we start to make emphasies on teaching churches to become self supported.

It will take time but so far we accomplished great things with the help

God, and we believe that in a few

of

years many of our churches will support

their own ministers.

This year we will attend and take part in two great celebrations in Poland the 60th Anniversary of the Churches of Christ and the 60th Anniversary of the
ministry of the pionier worker Bro. Jerzy Sacewicz.
In addition to that we will visit every ncfw Testament Church, be in many homes,

talk to many radio listeners and have conferences with preachers and Christian
workers.

Please remember us in your prayers and support.

LITEEIATURE

"Dear Sir! I am a Roman Catholic priest. By chance I received one of your song
books. I looked through it. I found great treasures in it.
In our church we have many young people who like to sing. Please send me
all
song books you have and any other literature you publish. With great respect,K.

"Dear Publishers:

I am very interested in your Christian publications.

Your

monthly magazine contains very interesting and much needed articles. You write
to the point, clear and persuasibly. Not long^ago I met certain religious group
which discussed religious problems of the present world. They used your magazi
ne. When I read it I got great desire to read more such articles which talk
about Kingdom of God founded on the Scripture.
I wish you God*s blessing and success in spreading the Word of God " the Good
News of His Kingdom, Yours, T.S."
"Dear Publisher: What a treasury! "Life of Christ and New Testaments Heroes,

from entrance of Jesus to Jerusalem to Assention.
-

Could I have such books for

myself and my friends? P.J."

PS.

'

There were 40.000 copies of the Life of Christ printed in Poland last year,

i_s such great demand for this booklet that the whole edition is already
gone. These books open eyes of many who!later accepted Christ as their personal
Saviour. Paul

BIALA PODLASKA

Church in Biala Podlaska

Church in Biala Podlaska is one of the newest congregations. Just 4 years ago

Bro. Peter Bronowicki agreed to move from Olsztyn to this place where there was
not a single New Testament Church in radius of 100 km. We were able to purcha

se a building for S 3,500.00 which was remodeled into a sanctuary and living
quaters for the minister. Last year the Wyoming Ave. Christian Church, Bro. E.
John, minister, purchased an organ for the church in Biala Podlaska. The Wyoming
Ave. Church is also the living-link church for Peter Bronowicki, Sr. and Peter
Bronowicki, Jr. who labor in neighbouring churches.
Brothers Bronowicki are hard working men, dedicated preachers and the Lord is
blessing their ministries.

All contributions designated to Polish ministries which include: Living-link

supports for Paul Bajko, Boleslaw Winnik, Polish preachers, Camp in Ostroda,
Bibles, Literature, Publications, Buildings in Poland, Cassette Ministry,

Next day, June 5th, we were already on our way to Olsztyn for a great celebra

The celebratioiT^^rted Saturday morning with a historical review of the Chur

and
another great service Saturday evening.
Messages were brought by the pionier ministers, older genaration and younger

generation of preachers. There we met almost every preacher and hundreds

of
Christians from all parts of Poland. We were happy to see there Bro. ^d Sis
ter Charles Branum, from the Global Radio Ministries in Toronto. Bro. Branum
brought a message and greetings.
Sunday, June 7th, will be the most memorable day in the history of
our Chur

with people and there
were
people standing in the halls.

Ostroda Christian Service Camp

In humbleness of our hearts we thanked God for all Christians in America who

help us financially and with their prayers to carry this great task of buil
ding the Church of Christ in Poland.
Monday, June 8th, in the morning we went to Ostroda. In Ostroda there are two

ministries performed: one - is the Home for-Senior Citizens...where Bro. ?aul

Wrobel is ministering and leading the church there, and second - is the_Youth
Cai^.
The Camp grounds with some buildings located on a beautiful lake were purchar
sed by us in 1971 for S 3,000.00. There was great need for expansion and 2
years ago the permission was granted for building a multipurpose building.
The estimated cost of the building was originally S 10,000.00.
By faith we
undertook this great task. Brethren in Poland received from the churches
about S 1,300.00 and the rest was provided by faithful Christians in America,
but when they began to build a year ago, nobody was expecting such economi
cal crises in Poland. So far we invested 515,000.00. With this money
we
will be able to put the building under the roof with doors and windows.
I am sure that by this time the building is already under the roof. By Ju
ne 8th the building was errected only to the first level and it is what you
see on the picture above. By July, according to schedule, the second level
was built. For this job we had to hire professional workers.
In August preachers and men from our churches started to work on rafters
and the roof.

The completion of the building is foreseen by 1983.

need our prayers and financial help.

The Brethren in Poland

POLAND

Like never before Poland is on the lips of everybody.

Our visit in Poland was most memorable.
We found the Polish Chris

tians watching and praying. Houses of worship are full. People

pray like never before. Spiritually they are rich, but economical
condition in Poland is catastrophical and i t affects our Brethren.

From everywhere in Europe people are trying to help people in Po

land. We saw packages from Germany, England, France, Sweden, Swi
tzerland, Holland etc. with the simple inscription: "In the name
of the Lord" .

It moved us and we want to help our Brethren "In the name of

Lord".
We decided to raise money for at least 100 packages The cost of 1 package with shipment will be S 50.00.

Would you like to be a part of this great program "In the name of
the Lord", so in your name a package will be send to Poland di
rectly to the church?
We need 100 Churches.

great!

Immediately after the 60th Anniversary celebration we started to visit all our
Churches.

Each day there were services. On the way from Ostroda we stopped in Lidzbark Warminski where Bro. Makarczuk and Puszcz are working in a very hard field, but
Lord is blessing them, several souls were baptized last year.
Then we landed in eastern part

where the Restoration

Sercice Camp. There was hesitancy and questions about having camp this year the food is rationed and there are shortages of everything.

During one debate

one lady said: "I have 2 lbs of barley and I am giving it for the children",
another

offered sugar, another yet potatoes, flour, oil, rice, etc.

So they started Camp.

35 youngsters ages 9-15 were there and were well fed. We spent some time
them. They were so happy to hear the Word of God.

visiting one preacher he gave us 1 quart of honey to take with us to America,

FROM THE CHURCH IN KOLOBRZEG

Dear Brethren of the Department of Missions:

It was our great joy to have Bro. and Sister Bajko visit our new chapel June
21st. Their presence here was great experience for us. We were happy to see
those who from the begining

carried the financial load of complete rebuil

ding of our house of worship. They saw the fruit of their sacrificial labor.
With great joy we accepted from the Department of Missions another 52,000.00
toward the completion of our building.

We thank God and you for what you have done for us. May the Lord bless you

richly.

BIBLES

Dear Brother Bajko!

Our church thanks you for sending us S 500.00 as special Bible fund. We will

be able to purchase hundreds of Bib Us and New Testaments and give in the

hands of hungry souls "The Bread of Life".

We have many radio listeners who request Bibles. Now we will be able to sent
them the Word of God and testify abo^t the living Savior.

We thank you also for sending us addresses of those people who are interes
ted in the Word of God. We will visi: them and help them in spiritual matters

May the Lord bless you and once more we thank you for the great gift.
