How do factories pollute the environment?

1. Introduction:
Each year the pollution is increasing, it started with the invention of fire, there are
information about the pollution finds in caverns, the information is about the
inadequate ventilation of bonfires. The first time the pollution was outside the home
was with the forged metal, according to researches there were increase in the
appearance of metals on the ice sheets in Greenland glaciers. With the industrial
revolution that gave birth to environmental pollution, generating advancement of
technology, this lead us to the creation of machines, mechanical tools for implement
factories that contribute to the pollution, that it has been increasing day by day.
What the man could do to end the environmental pollution is prevent the
indiscriminate deforestation in the forests, because is the oxygen source for the
planet, and also people could pick up rubbish in the bay, preventing the atmosphere
of our planet keeps pollute with the carbon dioxide from vehicles.

2. Definition:

Factories, in general, are associated with manufacturing products, and many times
that requires using many different materials in the creative process. As chemicals,
heat and waste from the new products go through assembly, they all need to be
removed from the factory. Open air vents, smokestacks and chimneys release the
pollution from the factory into the air.
Factories can pollute the environment through thermal pollution, chemical pollution,
air pollution, noise pollution, for a few examples. Thermal pollution is when hot
water is dumped into cool water in a river, lake, pond or bay.
The difference in temperatures can promote algae growth, kill of native fish or
wildlife, or it might cause disruptions in the water that causes the water to change
temperature, also causing major problems with wildlife. Chemical Pollution is when
chemicals are exposed to the environment, either by dumping them into sewage
plants, where excess waste ends up in the ground. A good example of this is
nuclear waste. This needs to be treated carefully or else it could completely
destroy an area. Also there are illnesses about the skin, heart, lung, for example
dermatitis, allergic skin reactions, chemical depigmentation and in the worst cases
skin cancer.

Contamination kinds:

2.1 Thermal pollution:

Thermal pollution is the degradation of water quality by any process that changes
ambient water temperature.
A common cause of thermal pollution is the use of water as a coolant by power
plants and industrial manufacturers. When water used as a coolant is returned to
the natural environment at a higher temperature, the change in temperature
decreases oxygen supply, and affects ecosystem composition. When a power plant
first opens or close down for repair or other causes, fish and other organisms
adapted to particular temperature range can be killed by the abrupt change in
water temperature known as "thermal shock."
2.1.1 Effects of thermal pollution:
There are several effects of thermal pollution

Sudden and periodic increase in temperature producing a thermal effect

Changed dissolved oxygen

Changes to reproductive powers and increased susceptibility to disease

Production of heat shock proteins for thermotolerance.

Changes in migration time and pattern may be affected.

Bio indicators are the first to show the effects

Decrease in productivity of the water body .

Economic and environmental damage

2.2 Chemical pollution:

Chemical pollution is a negative change occurred in the natural state of the
environment, caused by the introduction of foreign agents in that medium, called
pollutants, causing imbalance and damage, usually in the environment or human
beings.
In recent years, there has been a rise in chemical pollution, through the growth of
industries in our societies. The most chemical contaminants produce a detrimental
effect on our lives, this contamination began to be a problem since World War II,
because of radioactive rain caused by wars and nuclear tests.
Kinds of chemicals pollution:

Detergent

Water Pollution

Insecticide
