A groundbreaking environmental
documentary following an intrepid
filmmaker as he uncovers the most destructive industry facing

Prof. Gary L.
Francione Introduction to
the Abolitionist Approach to Animal
Rights
The Abolitionist Approach to
Animal Rights is based on the right
of all sentient beings not to used
exclusively as resources for others.
This approach regards veganism
as a moral imperative and rejects
welfare reform & single-issue
campaigns as problematic both
on moral & practical grounds. The
Abolitionist Approach sees human rights & nonhuman rights as
inextricably intertwined and promotes nonviolence.

*Debate: Ricky
Gervais and Beyonc
good for the Animal
Rights movement, or
confusing it?
Ricky Gervais and Beyonce represent a new breed of celebrities
who are constantly in the news with their support for animals,
or their talk about their vegan diets and lifestyles. For some,
celebrities like this are the best asset for the movement, helping
take vegan lifestyle and animal rights into the masses. For others,
the likes of Ricky and Beyonce are succeeding only in confusing
people about the true meaning of what it means to be vegan and
have compassion for animals.

PlantPure Nation tells the story of
three people on a quest to spread
the message of one of the most

all time. After renowned nutritional

T. Colin Campbell gives a stirring

son, Nelson, and Kentucky State
Representative Tom Riner work
together to propose a pilot program
documenting the health benefits

This half hour film in eight parts explores a lifestyle that includes
delicious, healthy food while tackling many of the ethical and

Blackfish
Blackfish tells the story
of Tilikum, a performing
killer whale that killed
several people while in
captivity. Along the way,
director-producer Gabriela
Cowperthwaite
compiles
shocking
footage
and
emotional interviews to
explore
the
creatures
extraordinary nature, the
species cruel treatment
in captivity, the lives and
losses of the trainers and the
pressures brought to bear by
the multi-billion dollar seapark industry.
This emotionally wrenching, tautly structured story challenges
us to consider our relationship to nature and reveals how little
we humans have learned from these highly intelligent and
enormously sentient fellow mammals.

The Herd
The Herd is an award
winning short horror film
with a powerful message.
A number of kidnapped
and trafficked women find
themselves imprisoned in
a squalid medical facility.
For Paula her continued
survival relies on her basic
human function.
Escape, on any level, is seemingly impossible as the women are
condemned to a life of enforced servitude at the whims of their
captors; for one reason only their milk.

Speciesism: the

Speciesism: The Movie is a
new kind of documentary.
It takes viewers on

sometimes
frightening

across
the
country, to expose the
biggest
secrets
about
modern factory farms, and
to ask the biggest questions
about the belief that our

When I entered the theater to see Mark Devriess film Speciesism:
The Movie I was a speciesist. When I came out I could no longer
justify the treatment of animals with any rational arguments
because they were all demolished in this brilliant and compelling
film. The intellectual debate over speciesism is now over.

We needs to eat at least 5 handfuls
of vegetables every day. We also
need all the different vitamins,
minerals and antioxidants in all
the colours of the rainbow. Make
a Rainbow handprint to remind
you to eat a rainbow of 5 portions
of vegetables every day.
Rainbow Fruit
Kebabs
Vegetables are most important
but fruit is important too. Red
strawberries have vitamin K, orange
apricots have iron , yellow bananas
have magnesium and potassium, Green Kiwi fruit are full of
vitamin C, Blue Berries and Purple / Black Cherries are full of antioxidants. If you manage to make a fruit kebab with a full rainbow
you can have some free omega 3 rich chocolate bean sauce to dip
them in.

(Vegetarian for Life)
With a little help from
my friends: how to be a
friend to veggie elders
When Joyce went into care in 2007
after developing dementia, she was
given meat to eat despite having been a dedicated animal rights
campaigner. Staff essentially shrugged their shoulders and offered
the excuse: Well, she wouldnt know any difference, would she!
Joyce had no relatives to fight her corner and point out how
unethical this was but something really positive grew out of this
awful disregard. Vegetarian for Life (VfL) came into being to help
protect all the other Joyces in care homes.
So successful has it been that VfL now offers essential support for
older vegetarians and vegans in their own homes as well as in care.
Find out how you can get involved as a Friend of Vegetarian for Life.

ethical investment,

Ethical or responsible investment now
makes up over 13bn of the UKs savings market. With growing
interest in investment into companies working towards a more
sustainable economy, the size of the market is set to grow. This
session will look at the main forms of responsible investing, that
is; negative screening, positive environmental investment and
engagement activity.
My aim is to provide an informative and practically useful session
avoiding the unnecessary jargon and technical language the
investment industry so often employs!

Although many popular varieties of dairy free milky chocolate
are often marketed to children they contain more sugar than
most types of chocolate. At a time when the reduction of sugar is
recommended for good health reasons, most parents are looking
to reduce the amount consumed by the family and especially
their children. Fortunately this is now possible. A great tasting
alternative has been created.
Lots of This None of That is a scrumptious dairy free milky
chocolate bar that amazingly has reduced sugar. It is also gluten
and nut free. A 30g bar of Lots of This None of That still contains
less sugar than 20g of similar chocolate. Produced by Plamil, the
highest ranked Ethical chocolate manufacturer, Lots of This None
of That is made using renewable energy. This revolutionary new
bar is the future for dairy free chocolate. The cocoa is certified
under the UTZ Certified sustainability programme.
