2 Renewable and non-renewable energy

1. Sources of energy in the world can be classified into 2 groups:
Renewable energy sources those that can be (ditambah) or when
they have been used OR energy sources which cannot be depleted despite continuous use
Non-renewable energy sources those that .. be replenished or renewed and will
eventually be used up and exhausted OR energy sources which will be . one day and
we will not be able to replace them.
RENEWABLE
ENERGY
Solar

ADVANTAGES

supply
does not cause pollution
does not cause pollution
water always available
unlimited source
does not cause
..
does not cause pollution
unlimited source
does not cause pollution
unlimited ..

removes waste organic matter

..cost

Geothermal

. supply
does not cause pollution

Fossil fuels

.. to burn
natural gas sets free a lot of
energy

little element
needed to supply a large
amount of energy

Hydro
wind

waves
Tides
NON-RENEWABLE
Biomass

Nuclear

DISADVANTAGES

dependent on weather
. cost of construction
high cost of contruction
. the balance of nature
dependent on wind speed and direction
cannot produce a lot of electrical

high cost of conservation

of waves variable
high cost in building station
suitable areas are limited
requires a amount of
biomass
requires a large area to work in
areas with geothermal energy limited
. chemicals such as boron
and suphur dioxide present with the
steam set free
high cost of construction
produce acidic gases such as suplhur
dixide
cause acid rain and pollution
coal especially dirties the environment
risk of accident
suitable elements. to obtain
high cost of construction

2.Reason we should conserving energy are

To .non-renewable sources of energy such as fossil fuels (oil, gas, coal) from
depletion as the supply is limited; but widely used all over the world.
To the amount of money spent on electricity, gasoline (minyak petrol) and other
forms of energy.
To .. our high standard of living which is due (in part) to our abundant energy sources.
To reduce the side effects of energy use: pollution, damage to animal habitats and ruined
landscapes.
3. Ways to use energy efficiently
More efficient equipment must be .. so that energy can be used more economically.
the use of renewable energy sources to replace non-renewable energy sources.
Use non-renewable energy sources in an economical, efficient and smart way.
fuels such as diesel and palm oil, and other renewable energy sources like
hydroelectric energy, biomass energy, wind energy and wave energy should be widely used as
alternative energies.

4. Ways to use and manage energy sources efficiently

. material
more efficient engines that use less energy to operate.
Put .. (penegasan/penekanan) on the use of renewable energy sources such as solar
energy.
