    Casting Project
    3 *
    The purpose of the project is to train the student how to make a casting design, and how to correlate between the
    quality of casting produced and this design.
    The students will work as groups each group consists of 4 to 5 students:
    Each group should select a pattern from the following, then:
    I) Make a drawing for the casting, the pattern and core box.
    2) Make a complete casting design:
    a) Select cast alloy (cast iron, or Al - Si alloy)
    b) Determine casting dimensions.
    c) Design the gating system: type, parts, shape, location and dimension.
    d) Design the feeding system: type, shape, location and dimensions.
    e) A unique report from each group should be completed and extra brief report is needed from each
    student to indicate his contribution.
