Q-4 Define
L:1
1. WAP- Wireless Access point is a device that connects wireless communication devices to form a
wireless network .
2. Bluetooth Bluetooth is another wireless communication , medium operating over short distances
. It has normal range of approximately 3-300 feet , depending on the devices connected . For egMobile phones , personal computers , laptops , digital camera , Mp3 players and others etc.
3) Server A server is a computer that manages the network resources , software and files . It is
normally dedicated that it performs no other task besides the allocated task . For eg- File server , print
server4 .
4) Nodes - The computer is a network can communicate with each other as well as work
independently . Each computer in a network is called node .
L- 2
5) Field A column with in a table that contains only one type of information is called Field . In the
example : Student number , roll no , name , address , date of birth etc are the different field name.
6) Record Number of fields make one record , Record is all the information about one subject . In
the above example , Students roll no , name , father name , Address , phone number , date of birth
indicates one record of a student .
7) Reports reports in access allow you to present the data In meaningful and summarized
manner . .
Ans -4 Network security means protecting data and resources from access by unauthorized person .
There are two general levels of network security
1 Login Security You are given a unique login name and password .
1. Rights security Based upon your user name , you are given rights like Read-Only Access or
Read-Write Access or No Access at all . A combination of rights can also be granted to the
same user for different sets of data .
Q-5Explain Client-Server network .
Ans-5 It is a network where several computers called clients or workstations are connected to the
main computer called the server .
Q-6 What is a database ? Give examples of database .
Ans- 6 A database is a systemically organized or structured repository of indexed information that
allows easy retrieval updating , analysis and output of data stored usually in a computer . This data
could be in the form of graphics , reports , scripts , tables , text etc representing almost every kind of
information eg- Telephone diary , a dictionary .
L-3
Q-9 What is a table ?
Ans 9 A table is a collection of rows and columns that is used to store database information . A
table can have maximum to 255 columns with unlimited rows . In a database we cannot have two
tables with the same name .
Q-10 What do you mean by Data types
Ans-10Datatypes are used to declare the fields of a table. A data type determines the type of data , a
particular field can accept . Once the data type is defined , we cannot a different type of data . For egYou cannot enter letters in a field set to numbers .
Q-11 What is the use of primary key ?
Ans -11 A primary key is a key that differentiates the records in afile . The data stored in a key field
contains data that is unique to a specific record . A student record for eg - would use roll no as a key
field because it uniquely identifies each student .
Q-12 How will you insert a new field in an existing table ?
Ans-12We can insert a new field in an existing table by the following ways 1) Select the table name
and click on the view button on the datasheet t6ab . Select design view option from the drop down
menu .
2) Click on the row where you want to add a new field .
2)
3)
4)
Click on ascending to sort the records and click on descending to sort the records in
descending order .
