The board having assembled pursuant to order proceeded to categorize list of
brands/makes for all products for inclusion in all MES Works. In accordance with Terms
and References, the BOO to
(a)
Recommend makes of all major fitments to be included in contracts for
original works based on quality, durability, customer satisfaction, easy availability
and cost compatibility.
(b)
Prepare categorized list of brands (Gp-1, Gp-2 & Gp-3) for all
products and give their recommendation.
(c)

Prepare category wise list of products as per E-in-C Br format.

(d)

Include list of products already approved by E-in-C Br.

Include list of products currently approved by E-in-C Br but to be
subsequently approved and/or renewed by Command HQ.
FINDING OF THE BOARD

Board was presented with following details by E2W Section:(a)

Appendices A to E of BOO for selection of products for incorporation in
all MES works, as fwd to E-in-Cs Branch vide HQ CEEC letter No
136001/18/B&R/46/Engrs/E2W dt 13 Jun 14.

List of approved names for product to be incorporated in work, duly
categorized, fwd to E-in-Cs Branch vide HQ CEEC letter No
136001/18/B&R/70/Engrs/E2W dt 13 Aug 14.
(c)
Appendices A & B of BOO for selection of products for incorporation
in all MES works , ordered vide HQ CEEC letter No 136001/18/B&R/Engrs/E2W dt
09 Sep 2014. The same was fwd to E-in-Cs Branch vide HQ CEEC letter No
136001/18/B&R/34/Engrs/E2W dt 30 Sep 14.

After pursuing all the previous BPs as mentioned in para 2 above and as per
direction of E-in-C Br letter No 81268/Policy-Gen/45/Des-2 dt 16 sep 14 and subsequent
letter No 43285/CMPT/64/Des-2 dt 31 Oct 14, list of products has been prepared
category wise and within each category the brands/makes have been grouped under
three groups based on quality, durability, customer satisfaction, easy availability and cost
compatibility. Appx A of BPs has been prepared as per directions of E-in-Cs Branch in
three groups as under:
Group 1

: For high end use like prestigious bldgs.

Group - 2

: For medium end use like all living Accn.

Group - 3

: For low end use like store houses, temp bldgs, sheds.

The BOO has gone through the list of products to be approved by E-in-C Br
(Appx B) received vide E-in-C Br letter No 43285/CMPT/64/Des-2 dt 31 Oct 14. The
same has been made part of the BPs as directed by E-in-Cs Branch.

The BOO has also gone through the list of products, currently approved by
E-in-C Br but to be subsequently approved and/or renewed by HQ Comds
(Appx C),received vide E-in-C Br letter No 43285/CMPT/64/Des-2 dt 31 Oct 14. The
same has been divided into three groups and included in the BPs.

RECOMMENDATION OF THE BOARD

List of major items are enclosed as Appx A , in which brands/makes categorized
in three groups, as per direction of E-in-C Br. However, in some items brands/makes has
been categorized in Group 1 only and same can be utilized for Group 2 and Group 3 also
as on reqd basis. It is recommended to incorporate Appx A and Appx B (which
includes list of items to be approved by E-in-C Br) in all MES wks.

In view of the above, it is recommended that the product list as per Appx A be
approved in compliance to E-in-Cs Branch letter No. 43285/CMPT/64/Des-2 dt
31 Oct 14.
