Assalamualaykum Wr.Wb

We thank to Allah SWT for His mercy and His grace so we can
finish this paper that we have made, shalawat and salam to the best role
model for all of mankind, Prophet Muhammad SAW, we also extend thanks
to Mr. Aang Kunaepi M.A, C.H, C.HT, who has been guiding and giving
direction to us in preparing this paper so that can be done as it is. In this
paper, we discuss the topic of "Implementation of Islamic Leadership in
The Era of Prophet Muhammad SAW" which consists of two sub - topic of
discussion such His leadership in Mecca, and His leadership in Medina. We
hope this paper that we have created can fullfil the requirements that we
should reach in this project and can be useful for those who read it.

Chapter I: PROPHET MUHAMMAD SAW LEADERSHIP IN

MECCA PERIOD

I.1

Mecca civilization before Islamic era

Theres a significant different between the era before Rasulullahs

prophecy and after He got His prophecy. On the era before the civil of
Arab-especially for Mecca, has not influenced by Rasuls dakwah. There
are a lot of mess and everything that opposite from Islamic values that
happened. In Islamic history this era could be said as jahiliyah era. The
biggest problem is about the social condition of those people in that era.
They developed a trend which actually wrong on the Islams frame. They
was spreading an enmity (read: permusuhan), did revenge a lot, and
suppressed the weak.
Meanwhile, the faith of those people at that time was beliefs and
worships the graven images (read: patung berhala). They worshiped
various kind of graven images which divided into 3 kinds, shanam / statue
(read: patung), watsan / idol (read: berhala), and nushub / talisman (read:
jimat).1

I.2Rasulullahs SAW Leadership before His prophecy

Rasulullah SAW was born on 12 Rabiulawal 11 th Hijriah (tahun gajah)
which is coincided with 20 April 570th Masehi. He is yatim since on His
mothers 3rd months pregnancy. His mom passed away when he was 6
years old while His grandfather passed away when he was 8 years old.
After several tough moment on His life, then He nurtured by His uncle
Abu-Thalib.

Since He was young, Rasulullah SAW already have potencies to be a

great leader. He learned how to survive by working on any halal job and
honestly trading. He also established a social foundation named Hilful
Fudlul which is a foundation that help poor people and slaves. On His
mature age (about 35) He called by people in mecca as al-Amin, this could
happen because His ability on fairly solved publics and important problem
such as giving a wise way to putted back Hajar Aswad to it place.
By all of His eminence characteristic, He got peoples believe on
Himself at His very young age. Even though His prophetic was founded on
Him by only a Christian Priest when He was 12.

Rasulullahs SAW Leadership goals as a Prophet

We can assume that Rasulullah SAW leadership goals is not only as

a person who led Himself and His family. He should leading all of the
mankind and all of the creature to the One and only, Allah SWT. The
moment where Rasulullah SAW officially chosen as leader of all the
mankind and creature, were when He received His wahyu as a prophet
and commanded by Allah to spread the truth as a Rasul.. [Quran AlMudatstsir (74) : 1-2]

O you who covers himself [with a garment],

Arise and warn!

The biggest obstacle for Rasulullah SAW of His leadership on Mecca were
to lead the people out from jahiliyah and assure them about the truth that
He is a Rasul whose the messenger of Allah SWT.

He used all of his ability, He spread dakwah endlessly, He also

create an agreement (piagam makkah) between Quraisy, He moved to
one another places, He did dakwah furtively (read: secara sembunyi) and
being pursued, sometimes He did straight-out dakwah and get bullied.
Yet, no matter what the things that has been trying to stop Him. He
stick to His iman and keep leading all of the mankind.
