TEACHING PROCEDURES

A. GROUP FORMATION
-form group ( head of group, 5-6 members, consist of male, female and different races)
-introduce members and facilitator
-Setting the learning climate
-define roles (students/facilitator)
-formulate groups ground rules
-explain FILA table

B. PRESENTATION OF STATEMENT OF PROBLEM & TRIGGER

The lecturer shows the problem and triggers during first meeting

D. PRESENTATION
Lecturer as a facilitator has to encourage and guide the student to fill up the FILA table.
Allocate 10 minutes to fill in the FILA table. Each group present the FILA table for 5
minutes.

At the end of FILA presentation for all groups, the lecturer shows the Learning outcome
from the FILA schema.

Shows the student the second task (project task). The students need to make a case
study of failed engineering project ( site area should only within Johor and Melaka)
Students are required to investigate:
-Information of the project
-Reason of failure
-Suggest any possible solution

E. PLANNING FOR ACTION

- select appropriate identified learning issue to execute (consider time constraint = in
parallel to lecture hours allocation in the RPP)

F. EXECUTING PLAN
1. Research/Experiment all students
2. Library all students
3. Web surfing all students
4. Communication and interviewing all students
5. Conduct oral presentation all students

G. REPORTING
Lecturer as a facilitator
- To monitor and assess whether the students achieve the selected learning issues and
cover the subject matter.

Student as a group member

o Report

maximum 20 pages

first 10 pages consist of FILA table and related content related to the
learning outcome

The last 10 pages consist on report of the case study

Compile the minutes of weekly meeting, FILA table, and

assessment forms in the report (not included as the number of
pages for the report).

Report format

Times new roman- 12

Margin- Top 1, Bottom 1, Left 2, right 1

Front page - (Name of subject, Site name, Groups name,

Date of submission)

Include list of references

o Video presentation related to case study- maximum 5 minutes duration

o QNA-5 minutes
o Slide preparation- a summary of the presentation- maximum 10 slides- no
presentation
o Students are required to attached soft copy of report, slide presentation
and video in CD

H. PRESENTATION
-report the FILA table with consideration of improvement in order to comply with the
course content

I. ASSESSMENT
Refer part 7 above

J. Student reflection
Overall reflection on learning experience

i. Content
- student achieve the subject matter as required.

ii. Process
student learnt through experience, communication with associated
person/company/authority/

iii. Generic /humanistic skill

-

Communication skill improved their communication skill verbally and written

Teamwork every student responsible to complete the given task

Problem solving, critical thinking due to minimal trigger students are still able to
narrow down the learning issues associate with the subject matter
