MARCOS ADMINISTRATION

Fifteen presidents already took place entitled the President of the Republic of the
Philippines. We all know that being a president is not a very easy job to do, but this
people helped the Philippines grew as a country. Most of their programs are focused on
the Philippine economy. Because when the economy is stable everything follows. One
of them is the former President Ferdinand Emmanuel Edralin Marcos Sr. he is the 10 th
president of the Philippines from 1965 to 1986. He is one of the most excellent
president of this country but all of his Excellency all ruined when he declared that the
Philippines is under the Martial Law. Marcos implemented programs like Masagana 99,
Green Revolution, and many more. This programs majorly helped our economy improve
thats why Marcos Administration is very good.

Marcos implemented many programs for the economy, transportation, agriculture,

and built many infrastructures. Two of his programs is called Masagana 99 and Green
Revolution. This program promoted the new way of farming and the development of
agriculture, with the use of varieties of rice called the miracle rice that can effectuate
more than one hundred sacks of rice per one hectare of land. With this programs
Philippines became self-sufficient in terms of rice production. They do not buy rice
overseas in order to fill the shortages in the staple. Next is the infrastructure projects

like irrigations highways and bridges. Including Maharlika highway, and San Juanico
Bridge in Visayas. This infrastructures help the Filipinos ease to travel everywhere,
because of this Ferdinand Marcos is called The Architect of the New Society. Then the
land reform, all of the land owners that is planting rice and corn ang commanded to
divide their excess piece of land and gave it to the farmers that do not have their own
lands. And the farmers will pay the land for fifteen years. This will help especially the
farmers to earn more money for their respective families. Marcos also built Cultural
Center of the Philippines (CCP), and Folk Arts Theater. This buildings can make the
culture of the Philippines known all over the world. Last is the acronym PLEDGES
means P- Peace and Order L- Land Reform E- Economic Development DDevelopment and Moral Values G- Government Reforms E- Educational Reforms SSocial Services.

This implemented reforms and programs make the Philippines run independently.
The economy of the Philippines rapidly increasing because of the said projects of
Marcos. It helped the Philippines arise from the economic status from the previous
administration.
